Wonderful little hike on a paved trail around a small pond and park area. Recommended for all levels.

This is a super easy trail, relatively flat and not too rooty, but still quite nice. it is rare to come across many people in the leg past the bridge. You are also along the banks of Lake Brandt almost the entire time so you have a nice cool breeze in sumer. Plenty of wildlife, herons and gulls in the lake, an occasional snake, and deer tend to hang out in the area a lot as well.

This was a really nice and well maintained trail. It is a fairly popular trail. It has multiple loop paths for alternative difficulties. Pretty good signal for cellular trail tracking.

Don't go on a rainy day. very muddy and you will get your feet/shoes wet. fall would be better. not very scenic.

By far one of my favs. Easy trail, but still interesting. Great views at the top

Horse POOP every 25 to 50 feet! Half way into the hike even the dog knew to walk around when we yelled the “poop” warning.
Enjoy the auto traffic the last 2 miles.

This was a great trail with lots of shade. There were a few nice spots where the view of the lake was awesome. The kudzu at the end of the trail was a nice surprise. The trail is pretty flat, but the woods are pretty. We also got to see a mama deer and her fawn.

Great trail for everything from hiking, running, and family walks. 2 mile paved loop, with a nice dirt trail close to the lake.

Beautiful scenery.

A pretty walk through the woods. The trail is well marked and not too crowded early in the morning.

I really enjoy these trails for trail running.

Fun, easy trail with a nice lake view

Easy walk around the lake. Sunrise is beautiful. Watch your step though, not all folks pick up after their dogs.

Great trail for the family especially for younger kids. Easy trails and theyre not to long. If your looking for something a little more serious your not missing much if you pass on this trail. It's more suited for picnics and family time.

From benign to intense. A must hike.

good for long tailings,

I do this trail so often. it is my favorite loop in the Triangle.

I ride this trail regularly. it's busy on the weekends near the dam, but a great trail.
Bridges are well maintained, and the trail clean.

Great hike! Did it solo a week ago and didn't see any other hikers. Today hiked with a friend, and we saw 13 other hikers. So glad we followed advice from someone else and started from the other side of the parkway. We went up the steep part, rather than down. Much easier on knees, and less tricky to negotiate.

I really enjoy walking around this Lake

this trail is pretty good, nothing fancy. the marking on it is pretty decent, it's definitely hidden from the outside work (thanks all trails). the bridge is probably the best part , last time I went there some kids were playing in the Creek. no there is not any bathrooms but that's probably the biggest negative thing about it.

Very nice trail. It is well maintained, the path is wide enough for two small groups to easily pass each other head-on while walking/running 2 abreast. The walking path is covered with mulch most of the way, so runners have a soft, but firm surface that removes some of the body pounding of the activity. The one shortcoming of the route is that while it is possible now to make a complete loop around the lake, which is contrary to what some of the online brochures state, one has to run/walk next to the busy road for a little less than a quarter mile on the part of the trail that crosses the dam, near the park entrance. That was the bad news. The good news is that while walking along that part of the path, one can see the very nice path that will soon cut through the woods and remove the necessity of walking next to the road to complete a loop.

love it! beautiful!

Great walking trail

Cute little park in a great neighborhood.
The photos don’t do it justice but it is definitely just a leisurely stroll kind of place, more than a hike. Great place to walk the dog, use the workout equipment, watch birds, and picnic.

by far my favorite trail in holly Springs!!! beautifully maintained and spacious. park does not open until 8am however.

Fun, easy trail for a casual hike. We brought our small dog and he had a fun time leading the way.

We saw a lot of families with young children enjoying the trail. There is also a spot on the loop for renting kayaks for the lake.

This is such a unique hike! You get good views of Lake James early on and they don’t stop as you reach the top and beyond. Lots of ledges to look out on and plenty of great camping spots along the way and at the top. Not a big time commitment either - Really loved this hike.
