gorgeous panoramic views. 360 degree unobstructed awesomeness.

Nice picnic spot and camping spot with Great views. Gets crowded by noon and the drive up is a bit rough.

Loved the hike, great views

Fun little hike with gorgeous views, great for kids and dogs. The unpaved road up from I-40 is extremely bumpy, so it’s rather slow going, and we even managed to get lost on the way back down.

Easy hike! Beautiful views! It was windy on top. Take a blanket to relax on top with views. The drive up to trail from I-40 Exit 7 was about 30 minutes on a unpaved, bumpy road.

Easy hike. Views were really good. The drive up to it sucks.

Easy trail, great views!

Nice easy scenic hike.

Had a really fun time with my 9 year old and my dog here. Climbing to the lookout point gave us a sense of accomplishment.

It is a workout. If you are a newbie be prepared for a challenge. Cars can drive to the top so you may see non-hikers at the firepower.

Great hike with good winter views. The views are limited in summer but it is still a great hike. With the trip.

Great day hike!!

Definitely should be rated difficult bcuz of length & ups/down. 14.5 miles. Great winter hike for views and solitude.

Hard to find, not marked with orange blazes. Started on AT and took Lover’s Leap Loop back to parking lot. Amazing views and cool rocky outcroppings.

Awesome views

nice trail. lot of switchbacks going up. Just past the sign for Lover's Leap #308 (going up), there is a huge nest of yellowjackets on the trail. we got stung really bad, so be careful!

nice hike not great scenic views, but enjoyable hike.

Max patch is a nice hike. You get great 360 degree views. Sunsets are brilliant. This is a popular place so don't expect any privacy or solitude unless you walk down the AT to the woods. Sadly there were pieces of toilet paper and trash everywhere.

Easy hike, great view

short hike. great views. bring a blanket and picnic and make a day of it.

Crown jewel of the AT. You’ll feel like you’re in the sound of music.

First sunrise hike and it’s the perfect place for it! Short hike for some beautiful 360 views!

Epic views!

We actually went up twice. We took the AT entrance way. Beautiful hike up. The backside is like a jungle and ends up at the Silvermine trailhead. We walked through the parking lit and down the ‘Deliverance’ road and up again the AT side and this time took the AT all the way up along the ridge until the Push Loop trail and backside of the mountain - the tropical jungle. No views. Just a creek and lots of leaves. We got lost somehow and ended up at a campground and just hiked through until we got to the parking lot. Them hiked back to Hot Springs for an ice-cold brew. We did about 10 miles total.

This is a great spot to bring a picnic and some chairs and hangout at the top of a hill all day surrounded by mountains. The drive up is kind of long and on a dirt road, so make an afternoon of your time up there since the trail is pretty short.

Loved it! We went when it was quite foggy and the most was beautiful. Definitely hike into the Forrest. Mid-September is beautiful. Reminded me of snow whites Forrest

Great view, not a difficult climb and perfect for dogs. be careful with oncoming traffic driving up and down the mountain as the gravel road is narrow with extreme drop offs periodically.

This is a beautiful trail that leads to a bald. At the top you have a 360 degree view. There's wild cotton that grows and it's really a special place. The ride up to it was a bit crazy though. The roads there are steep and windy!
