Very nice trail. It is well maintained, the path is wide enough for two small groups to easily pass each other head-on while walking/running 2 abreast. The walking path is covered with mulch most of the way, so runners have a soft, but firm surface that removes some of the body pounding of the activity. The one shortcoming of the route is that while it is possible now to make a complete loop around the lake, which is contrary to what some of the online brochures state, one has to run/walk next to the busy road for a little less than a quarter mile on the part of the trail that crosses the dam, near the park entrance. That was the bad news. The good news is that while walking along that part of the path, one can see the very nice path that will soon cut through the woods and remove the necessity of walking next to the road to complete a loop.

by far my favorite trail in holly Springs!!! beautifully maintained and spacious. park does not open until 8am however.

Love this area, great for child and pet friendly hikes. Short, well maintained loop. Decent for local biking, but lots of geocaching so keep your head up!

My favorite local running trail! It’s well-maintained year-round and is fantastically cushy thanks to its sawdust lining. Long enough to really get into and enjoy the scenery.

Great facility! A beautiful and easy 2 mile walk around the lake. Lots of turtles sunbathing. So scenic and serine.

Nice walk, great scenery around even saw a few deer grazing.

easy, almost 2 mile loop trail. soft wood mulch, one small incline. similar to lake pine and bond lake trails, but a little more wooded. yes, facilities. benches thru out trail, mileage markers, even small nature center w/snakes & turtles.

Great for trail-running, this trail goes around Bass Lake in Holly Springs. Flat except for one section that takes you to a shelter bordering Bass Lake Road. Lots of activities including fishing, boat rentals, bird watching, nature classes, or just taking an easy stroll, it's a nice place to get out and exercise. You can access either via the greenway or parking right at Bass Lake Park.

Combined with the walk or run around the lake, this is a great way to get out and enjoy nature and the cool breeze off the lake. The greenway is paved, so you can walk or ride a bike down to the lake. It passes by a few developments, and except for the parts that are right next to homeowner backyards, most of the pine thickets give you a sense of being in the forest. Holly Springs has done a good job of planning to protect the great outside. The greenway is 1.3 miles and the walk around the lake about 2.1 miles, so about a 4.7 mile route from start to finish.
