Hiking

Lovely, easy hike. Had the Falls pretty much to ourselves on a Tuesday afternoon. Would recommend for families for sure! Looks like a great place to try mountain biking.

easy stroll through the woods. Waterfall has swimming holes. Trail is poorly marked. I used the app to navigate. Mountain biker use this beginner trail.

Incredibly busy on a Sunday and no opportunity for social distancing. Although the trailhead parking lot is rather small, hikers were almost visible on every portion of the trail. Light traffic may have only applied prior to quarantine.

The views at the summit are worth the last climb! Great place to have lunch and catch your breath. Would recommend hiking pants or long socks in the summer due to a tight thicket section that had patches of poison ivy in the flowers. Currently patches of blueberries ripe and others ripening towards the top.

Crowded is an understatement. The parking situation is horrific due to the insane amount of people. This is not an area to hike at if you are looking to social distance.

Wear a bathing suit and bring a towel because Lake Julia is a picture perfect mountain lake for swimming. Toddlers can wade in and play and older folks can swim out. We loved this hike and will do it every summer. The air strip is totally cool, too, and worth it to walk to the end for a great Mountain View.

My son and I hiked it this morning. I am a novice, so it was tough, especially the last quarter mile or so. But, the views at the top were awesome. We were there early so only ran into one other person; however, as we were leaving several other people showed up. Somewhat rocky but not too bad. Would do it again!

This is a gravel trail made by the city I’m assuming. It wasn’t too busy when my mom and I went around 6pm. Maybe 4 other families? Most of them hiking out as we were going in. The trail is very (annoyingly) up and down and it kind of killed my shins after a while. Especially after the Alum Cave Trailhead we accomplished the day before but that’s on us. The trail is easy and leads to a nice swimming hole/waterfall. Great for kids. Bring swimming gear!

High Falls was one of our favorites. It is not a long hike to High Falls and the view is amazing. There is a place on the rock kids slide down and a nice swimming hole. There were several other people there, but you’re going to find that most places. Liked it even better than Hooker Falls!

Mountain biking

This was my first time mountain biking and I thought this was an awesome introduction. The climbs are broken up so good recovery time (only walked twice for very short distance). The down hill was a lot of fun and nothing scary for a first time ride.

waaay too many people. multiple groups of 20+, no social distancing. some had masks but not the big groups. parking was scarce: had to park at lake imaging parking lot (~1/2 mile away). Arrived at 10:00 AM, which wad probably too late. problem may have been 3 day weekend - we tried to it on Sunday, 5th of July.

Super fun and easy for my kids. The falls were perfect after the hike,. Very easy trail condition- wide gravel roads in some places. We started early in the morning (9am) and by the time we made it back to the car it was very crowded. Overall a great summer morning hike with kids.

There were surprisingly few people here on a hot 4th of July. Perfect place for an easy, shaded hike through forests with a young child and grandparents too. The falls and water hole at the end are a bonus.

Beautiful hike with amazing waterfalls. Would prob try reverse of what we did and end at High Falls and enjoy the day relaxing there. Well marked and fairly easy hike with just a few hills.

Trail in good shape. Pretty strenuous albeit short. Not busy at all. Make sure you go past the first cairns at the top to the more expansive view about a minute later.

HikingGreat!

Easy trail to follow. the map need to be updated the trail follows Moore cemetery rd road then loops back down. Even thought it was crowded(it was the 4th of July) it was a blast. Kids loved it and want to come back next year. great spot to swim. Make sure to get there early if you want a good spot. We got there at 0800 and had no problom finding parking. If you do not, it will be a long walk for parking.

This is a nice trail but it floods easily and dries up slowly. Very little shade.

Beautiful walk first of July! A bit warm, but plenty of shade. Saw some pretty flowers along the way and blackberries will be ready soon.

Don’t like gravel, but it’s a short hike. Falls were beautiful. Lots of kids playing in the water.

HikingGreat!

Did this trail in combination with several others trying to avoid the more trafficked areas of Dupont. We left from the Lake Imaging parking lot, took a series of trails, past Thomas Cemetary & eventually headed to the falls. Absolutely beautiful & no one there but us. We captured a couple of beautiful rainbows there & I've added in the photos section.

This was a great hike for people and pets of all hiking levels. It was a beautiful wooded trail with a wide path. It was lined with wild blueberries. The falls were scenic and included large rocks for climbing and a couple of nice swimming spots. The trail was a little hard to find from the parking lot but once we were on it, it was well marked.

Easy trail to walk. Walk to falls was downhill, walk back all uphill but bad. Lots of boulders to see along the walk. Nice falls with lots of rocks to take a break on. Was easily done by 9yr old.

Great trail. Not overly busy and we were able to sit at the falls for a long period of time without traffic or other people trying to get by. Not strenuous and well worth packing a lunch and hanging out a while.
