A trail i've been doing since I was a little kid. Walk up the hiking trail to the right & walk back down the gravel road. The views from the top are amazing, and sometimes there's cows! trails are always in great condition, and it's never too crowded. great for the sunset!

Beautiful short walk with a nice meadow to watch the view, have a picnic and watch the cows. (In summer.) If you want a real hike this isn’t it, but if you want to relax and just play games with the kids, this is the place to go.

Challenging!

Great trail to the waterfall but was tough on our older beagle. Three mini dachshunds made it with a few water breaks and being carried over some of the creek,

One of my favorite trails in the area.

Great hike and only about 30 mins from Asheville. The drive up is beautiful too. It was foggy when we went so didn’t get to see the full views at the top, but we still loved it.

Up hill both ways, secluded trail. Offers a little bit of everything

Lovely hike. We tracked it as 4.7 miles. It was a moderate hike through an idyllic forest. The trail is well marked and maintained. Take a pic of trail map before you head up.

A little easier than I expected but a pretty hike. For difficulty I'd say it's a 3/10. 7 year old did it easily with a couple of a short breaks on the way up. Wildflowers, cows, & the view at the top were worth the time.

Nice hike but definitely not a moderate trail! Very strenuous going up.

Loved the hike. It was harder than I imagined. Have fun!!

It obviously rained the night before our hike and was a little slippery on some of the rocks. Yes, you have to cross the creek a few times but nothing major at the beginning. I would not consider it rock climbing at all. However, if you dare, the falls will provide you with an opportunity to rock climb or ice climb when it has frozen. I would consider it a moderate hike.
There are steps in places that some may find difficult. I wasn't really impressed with the summit. My five year old did it without any issues at all. I gave it three stars because I enjoyed it with my son.

Quick little hike to a hilltop view. However, quite a lot of power lines and communication towers. Not a bad family jaunt, though.

Gorgeous, short, moderately strenuous hike through beautiful flower filled woods up to a huge meadow and 360 views. Excellent afternoon walk for families.

Strenuous hike. It was uphill both ways. Trail is good, but this isn’t an easy hike. I didn’t think I’d make it. It’s very hilly and steep and lots of steps. The grassy bald really isn’t worth the effort to get there. The trail is rated moderate, that’s why I went. I can do moderate no problem. I struggled with this one. Very hard. Will not do again. Oh and this hike is a little over 6 miles not 5.

Great up and down hike in the deep forest! Views at the meadow are worth the hike!

Well maintained and seemingly well marked trail but I never did find the full loop of the blue trail! And, the red trail seemed to just mysteriously end at some large rocks...it was quite confusing. Otherwise decent walk in the woods, I had my two dogs and we only saw a couple other people. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to do this again unless I was already headed down to chimney rock/lake lure.

Great hike, very strenuous in spots. When you get to the top you’re at a pasture with great views (and also many cows!) would hike again.

Light trafficked trail. Perfect for dogs and people. Goes out to scenic pasture where you can see all the mountains. Closer to 6 Miles

Great trail..with lots for everyone to enjoy..

Nice trail. Easy access. Beautiful view at the top.

We are not your average hikers aka not as experienced and this trail was great but rough in the beginning like not sure if I was going to make it. Once we got up a ways it was a beautiful hike and nice heading down as it was all down hill!

Moderate route without much traffic. You come to a large pasture with some decent views at the top. Did not see any cows there. The way back was much harder! The pasture at the top of the bearwallow mountain hike is much better, however.

Incredible wild flowers!! Well maintained. Great switchbacks. Well marked. Do the loop

The trail is marked well, a big meadow at the top is nice, sat and had lunch.

The trail is well maintained and has a limited amount of rocks and tree roots. The trail has a few man made steps but nothing overbearing. There are a few areas where other 'trails' may intersect but the signage is very helpful in these areas. There is one section that has big rocks to step over but for the most part, it is a very pleasant trail for your feet. There are a few sections of short 'steep' inclines but the trail is definitely on the lower side of moderate. I think the trail is a great one for beginning hikers or ones that want some exercise without overdoing it.
The endpoint has a decent view but not a great view like some people said while my son and I were going up.

Nice and challenging! A steep hike but well worth it. A lot of birds, wild flowers and views.

just beyond the 1 mile marker, up and over the hill is a beautiful sonic stream with fresh water for pet and a rock seat streamside for 2. We lunched there and rested.

To be clear. There is at no point a waterfall. There are a few small streams. Zero waterfalls. Great for exercise if that’s the only goal but for a nice hike with your dog and some good scenery I wouldn’t recommend. Definitely hits the glutes on the way up :)
