Fun summer spot for swimming and if you hike down the old road be following the river it takes you to the AT but also some good fishing holes and meadows along the river for picnicking. Great date spot.

A very short hike to a beautiful Falls, but obey the signs and don't try to swim him very dangerous!

Gorgeous falls.. well marked trail once you cross Jones Branch someone needs to change this cover picture it is not Jones Falls .. this one is elk river falls

Kinda sketchy drive to the waterfall but totally worth it. This is an easy and short trail. Was completely empty when we visited. The view is espectacular and you might be tempted to jump off the water fall. Please do not do that read the signs there have been fatal accidents at this location. Enjoy the view enjoy the sounds that should be enough !!

It was pretty nice trip.Little tricky find a trail when service road ends but we cross that stream and find it.really worth it.Total distance what we walk was little over six miles cause you can continue from that waterfalls up.Our dogs love it. just meet one couple on the way so perfect and quiet.

Very busy place but beautiful waterfall.

An easy half mile to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area.

Amazing!!! The drive there is beautiful, but the parking area is small. The hike is so short tho people are coming and leaving quickly. Short and amazing! A little crowded due to people swimming.

this is an awesome trail. very easy to get to. short walk. there is plenty of rocks to climb to get good pics. our kids loved it.

This was an awesome hike. Follow directions to a tee and you won't have any problems. On the return trip, if you take the lower trail back to the falls, it isn't maintained.... I had to drop my backpack at one point to get between some trees that had fallen. Loved this hike. I do photography.... First time on this trail. Common since and good footing. The reward is awesome!!! I spent at least 30 min. at Jones falls just to marvel at God's creation. I'll be back in the spring. Elk falls was pretty awesome too!!

I attempted to hike this trail about a month ago. Once I got to the end of the service road at the river, my group and I decided to turn back. The trail was very overgrown from there, and we were all wearing shorts and didn't want to risk it. I would love to make it to the falls if the trail was better maintained. We did see Elk Falls and it was gorgeous as always.

easy short hike with a real pow at ebd nice swimming area just dont fet to close to falls area swimming a lot of people have drowned here swimming and jumping. they have put steps at the trail going down the hill now so it is real easy now. Nice spots for kids to play in water also with sand there. even saw a beaver swimming there one time

The trail was short and easy, the waterfall itself was beautiful, but the area was very crowded.

Hard to find trail. Falls were beautiful but going beyond was a challenge.

Anyone have directions to the falls. I took the service road until I got to a shin high stream crossing and wasn't prepared for that did I miss the trail or do you need to cross the stream?

Very beautiful and fun place to swim, but also very crowded with lots of families. Short and easy hike, I would not rate it as moderate.

We were there all of 15 minutes. Within that time period we witnessed 2 complete dumbasses jump from the falls. One of which was covered in Swastika and white supremacy tattoos (he grazed the cliff on the way down). It was crowded with a pretty colorful array of people. We pretty much ran out of there. Skip this

Pictures don’t do Jones Falls justice. Neat little gem that takes you away from the trash and crowds that hang out at Elk River Falls. The hike gets tight in certain spots but just follow the directions in the description and you will find it with ease.

Very dangerous! Please be careful. Multiple drowning deaths have occurred, including two in 2018 alone. Even swimming at the base is dangerous. See article:

This is a beautiful waterfall!
I took the trail up from Elk River falls and I'm glad it is a little harder to get to because Elk River falls stays trashed from too many visitors disrespecting the land☹
You take the service road that is above the Elk River trail. There is one spot that is close to the water and it is so narrow you could easily slip off of the ledge into the water.
The water falls off of big boulder rocks and is very unique. Very much worthy of the almost 4 mile hike♡

The waterfall is beautiful. Elk falls is beautiful as well. Make sure you follow the directions listed above - I turned the wrong way onto the AT trail. Part of the trail is a scrambled on the edge of the river, be careful.

Not a long hike, but the trail is rough in areas. Worth seeing if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Great waterfall. Trail almost disappears at times so make sure you read the reviews on how to get there. At it's narrowest point I did nearly fall in the river a few times.

Nice swimming hole. Don’t try jumping from the falls!
