Great little hidden gem in NW Charlotte!

Nice location near UNCC, Mallard Creek Church Rd parking lot is small and could fill up fast. Review photo for upcoming work that may shut portions in the next few weeks.

Great walk in the woods. Easy to traverse for little ones. Plenty to see. Heavily wooded, lots of poison ivy— my suggestion is pants and some bug repellent. From parking and around the outermost loop is 2.5 miles.

This is our favorite bike trail here locally. Absolutely LOVE IT.

Nice warm-up trails to get day started or to wind the day down.

I have began recording each of the trails in McDowell park with some basic comments.

nice 1mile loop in an urban city, feels like the forest.

Rode the trail today and part of Clark’s Creek. Both are very nice for a relaxing causal ride.

Urban Park. Stroll in the woods. Adjacent is a disc golf course.

Great endurance trail for running in the shade on a scorching hot day. Also a tremendous leg workout with all of the drop offs downhill when your legs are fatigued.

wish there was some good mtb trails but its a good ride

Love running on this quiet peaceful trail.

Very easy which is why I can’t bring myself to call what we did hiking. Not much to see along the way. Very poorly marked. Great for beginners, small kids but don’t expect to be wowed.

Nice greenway rolling hill stretch through the wooded neighborhood.

Not the greatest/most scenic trail in the area but never that busy and always plenty of parking. A lot of room to run and great when you don’t want to have to drive far or battle Uptown traffic.

Everything has been burned down so not pretty at all. Stay on rocks there is not a loop as shown. Will not go back.

Nice trails. Mid week few people on trails. Was very relaxing and will definitely stop by again

Nice flat trail in town, mostly shaded. Lock your vehicle and take valuables with you. Lots of car break ins and attempted break ins.

This isn’t quite accurate. There are numerous trails to explore. It totals over 10 miles of fresh tracks. As far as difficulty is concerned, there are parts that are very challenging. I highly recommend it for intermediate trail runners!

Dusted off the old Giant and took her for a spin. First time in a looong time mountain biking for me and thought there was plenty of good trail for all skill levels. Will probably go back again soon

It's a loop that didn't. Maybe nicer in the Spring.

Part of the Whitewater Center, bring $5 for parking. Multiple routes and trails in the area. Weekends are busier, but only saw a handful of others on trail. Great dog route choices for active dogs

Mix of paved and gravel, you can get up to 17 miles by combining connecting trails.

Awesome trail! Great for kids. I will be coming back!

Took the dogs to this trail today and it was only us. Very peaceful with a lot of nice views. Simple hike but still enjoyable.

I enjoyed this walk through an area where there have been strong efforts made to cultivate native botanicals. There are no bikes allowed so it made the experience more peaceful. We saw many examples of of flora, fungi and numerous deer tracks. It is a relatively flat terrain. If walked in a counter clock-wise direction, it starts with sunny open meadow views with a picnic area at the midpoint and ends with forest glen vistas. This walk wold be appropriate for people who have difficulty with inclines.
