Trail is under construction - I’ll give it a “do over” come spring time

It is a very congested trail. However, especially during winter months, it is perfect as it is paved. The views are okay-not the trail you go on if you want to get away from the city, but still offers some wildlife. That being said, the length is perfect, and it will probably become my husband and I’s go-to trail as it is very close.

Clean, safe, and one mile laps! Great tree roots, hills and stairs for beginning trail runner. Close enough to parking lot I leave my water bottle in my car.

Only hiked 1.5 miles of Greenway, but will definitely return to do more. Would be nice to have some signage along the way

I go here with family members whenever I've visiting the Charlotte area. A very pleasant, heavily forested network of trails that allows for multiple combinations and new options each visit. Take note of the recommendation at the trailheads: hikers and runners ought to travel the opposite direction of the mountain bikers so there aren't any surprises. If followed accordingly, the bikers should not be much of an issue.

This is not an entirely flat series of trails, so if you are looking for some elevation gain in your hike or trail run this offers some variation.

You might be disappointed to find the trails closed after a recent downpour, due to mud. This affects the mountain biking trail quality, rendering it impossible, however I don't think it necessarily makes a hike too difficult. IMO the trails should always remain open to hikers.

Walked this with my son and a group of Trail Life USA guys. Had a great walk. Water didn’t seem as clean as it should have been. The water in the slow moving creek/branch was foamy. Not sure if foamy is a sign of pollution or not but was foamy none the less. Other than the water, the walk was great.

Solid trails. They have lots of rocks and roots so be aware as you run. Make sure to follow marked signs (running opposite of the MTB loops) for the safest experience. Everyone I've ever passed/been passed by has been courteous and friendly.

Please follow directional signs. All persons on foot Clockwise only! All dogs on leash only! All bikers counter-clockwise only! If using earbuds please leave one ear open so people can call out as they approach you. Simple rules to keep everyone safe.

Great flow and good length with options to tailor the trail to your level of riding. Don’t recommend hiking here - dominated by fast mountain bikers.

Great mix of natural surroundings, wonderful little nature center, and hikes for most skill levels.

Great little trail complex right outside Uptown Charlotte. Easy but unpaved so has a very natural feel.

If you live in Charlotte are are seeking a little solitude that is convenient, this is a quick escape especially if you go during the week. Park gets really crowded at times but overall a great place for a quick and easy hike through the woods. I go here alone but hiking is easy for kids as well.

For a $6 parking fee you have access to flat and well-maintained trails with an average amount of roots and stones to navigate as you pass through forest. The Lake Trail features several undeveloped ponds and is well demarcated.

We had a blast mountain biking but trails are ho-hum for hiking. As others have noted, everyone on the trail was respectful so please follow suit.

There are plenty of bathroom facilities on site and a top-notch restaurant. Climbing ropes are a short stroll from the restaurant if your kids still have energy to burn (of course, ours did). For a fee you can Zipline or try the 100ft drop in fair weather. in summer months, you can free climb the climbing wall suspended over a deep pool or brave white water in kayaks. You can also attend free concerts here.

Cycle or walk, this is a nice greenway through Charlotte. The path takes you very close to downtown yet in parts you might think you were out in the woods somewhere. the new sections is very nicely done, must have cost quite a chunk of money. My only issue is several of the underpasses were kind of sketchy with mud, sand and God knows what on the path which was not easy to see because they are quite dark. Otherwise I would have given five stars.

Current trail is 5.7mi according to the USNWC. If anything it's more than that. Well marked, well maintained. Very challenging to trail run with valleys and hills everywhere. I imagine it would be insane to mountain bike this.

Great trail for close in to Charlotte. Did the full 4 miles plus, but can be confusing when you get into the back and forth of the biking trails . There are signs to remind hikers to walk in the opposite direction of bikers, but most ignore. Terrain is all natural and very rooty, but level and fairly easy to navigate. Wish the trails were marked better and more often. Every time we have been we have encountered lost parties and tried to help them find their way.

mountain bikers make it he'll for walkers

beautiful easy relaxing trail in pure nature with a creek and kmlaje views. mountain bikes share this trail and its impossible to relax. not for enjoyment for those who walk.

Finally found a trail in the Charlotte area that felt like a nice woods hike. I will definitely be back often.

Great Trails

We came to this trail do do a nice walk, hoping to find a good trail for when we move here with our dogs. It was not a winner for that. We did the loop twice in about 30 minutes. Not sufficient for dogs. The trail is well done though! I could see it being a great place for a field trip.

Incredible trail filled with plenty of exploration points and wildlife. Bring water and be consider of what time you start, the trail can get very dark as the sun sets in the evening.

Used to be a great trail but with heavy rain this year getting to be too Rooty and Rocky. Be careful and if you have ankle sleeves/support wear it. Also, the trail is really only marked for the sight of mtn. Bikers. If you are running the opposite direction as instructed you can’t see the trail markers because they are on the opposite side of the trees. However, it’s nice because there are so few running trails in Charlotte.

Eh I’m new to Charlotte but this trail is tough on a hardtail. It is probably a much better ride on fs also is quite overgrown in some sections.
