Nice location near UNCC, Mallard Creek Church Rd parking lot is small and could fill up fast. Review photo for upcoming work that may shut portions in the next few weeks.

it's fun and large enough you can spend most of the day.

It was last year when my friend and I rode the mountain bike trail.,It was our first time on a mountain bike but a look workout and loads of fun.

Some of he trail is paved, pushing a stroller wasn’t too bad. Did the figure 8 to see the whole trail and spent some time in the playground in the back.

Great walk in the woods. Easy to traverse for little ones. Plenty to see. Heavily wooded, lots of poison ivy— my suggestion is pants and some bug repellent. From parking and around the outermost loop is 2.5 miles.

Good day out on the trail. Closed to bikes because of the rain so nice hike.

Very heavily forested area with lots of sun cover, lots of insects, so many different types of plants and fungi. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who is passing through the area and has a few hours to stop in for a quick hike.

Great trail , has a nice flow.

We live 10 mins away from here and never knew this even existed. We heard about it from our neighborhood newsletter and decided to check it out. I literally drove by this road a million times as a kid but hadn’t been down Norland in years. I was so happy to see they had build a small parking area, super nice bathrooms, and information area. This is a great getaway from the city while your in the city! Our dogs loved it. All the trails were super easy, but we loved how secluded it felt especially with how close to uptown it is! Will return!

Nice area with more trails than the loop shown here. All in there are about 8 miles of wooded hiking/walking trails, as well as a small interpretive center that even loans fishing poles for free. Most of the trails appear pretty well marked, though a couple of trail junctions were at parking areas so you have to look around a bit.

Good training spot if you work on this side of Charlotte. During Summer, there are snakes in the middle of the trail sometimes.

Rode the trail today and part of Clark’s Creek. Both are very nice for a relaxing causal ride.

I’m new to riding and stuck to the moderate trails. The trails were well maintained with a nice mix of hills, narrow spots, switchbacks, river views, etc. $6 to park and is a steal. Be sure to check their website before going as the trails are sometimes closed after rain. I will be going back.

I absolutely love riding at the whitewater center. These trails never bore me, even though I’m pretty sure I’ve covered almost every square inch of them by now. They do a great job of keeping them maintained and there’s nothing nicer to come off a great ride and grab a tall boy afterwards and sit by the water or stay a little later and listen to the live music.

Great endurance trail for running in the shade on a scorching hot day. Also a tremendous leg workout with all of the drop offs downhill when your legs are fatigued.

$6 entry fee at the gate fully worth it. My Husband and I hiked the 3 mile green trail today. Lots of mountain bikers but all were respectful. We would move to the side to let them pass. Beautiful views and moderate hiking. Would do it every week if we were local. We highly recommend it. Good shoes and water a must!

Great short walk!

Good trail only reason I am giving 4 stars is the back section by the lake is not that well marked. Got lost trying to figure out the trail back there. Just needs more markings or signs. Fast trail not much traffic at least when I was there.

Good intermediate trail and practice for some more challenging mountain rides. well maintained nice ride.

Fun fast intermediate trail, and good challenging beginner trail. Great ride without having to travel to the mountains.

Excellent trail. Several options mid trail as well as dozens of jumps. Highly recommended!

Pretty and very well-maintained. It can get somewhat crowded on pretty days.

First there is more like 30 miles of trail built for mountainbiking. There are harder and easier trails as is is broken down by loop name. These trails existed before the WWC took over and were built by the Tarheel Trail Blazers Mountain Bike club. The WWC has improved the trails and added miles. Hiking and running allowed but don't wear headphones on mountainbike trails and keep in mind who built them, mountainbikers.

Very easy which is why I can’t bring myself to call what we did hiking. Not much to see along the way. Very poorly marked. Great for beginners, small kids but don’t expect to be wowed.
