Even in the rain, this is a great trail. Easy to get a little bit turned around where several trails intersect. The app definitely comes in handy.

Awesome trail! We went with our kiddos, ages 3 and 7. The terrain was very rocky and full of roots in some parts. It was a little rough on the 3y/o, but she managed. We saw deer and some snakes sunning in the rocks at the falls.

This trail has a surprisingly good amount of uphill. But nothing too much at one time. Part of the loop is completely submerged and muddy. DO NOT TRY AND CROSS. I did, got got maybe halfway and was surrounded by snakes. Luckily, I turned around soon enough.

Beautiful day for a walk in the woods. Saw a turtle, snakes, and heard lots and lots of frogs.

Beautiful trail! Short but so worth it! So much wildlife in one area. :D

We loved this trail, kids & dog enjoyed alike. We were able to jump from trail to trail and stay busy exploring for about an hour & a half. Wish we had taken the lovers lookout trail that led to the castle, but didn’t know it was there until we had gotten back to the trailhead and noticed on map. The theater is cool, teens were hanging out there and there was trash left on the stands. But once we were deeper in the trails we didn’t see anyone else but a few deer. Lots of history and beauty tucked in the middle of campus and a neighborhood. Only reason for 4 stars is parking was non existent if you don’t have passes for campus or residential. I think there’s parking by the castle- posting photo of map under pics. If you can plan a good place to park in advance (we got lucky since campus is closed due to covid) - then you will really enjoy!

Mason Farm is a working biology project, esp. after rains... lots of wildflowers, swamp, frog sightings and forest. Located behind Finley Golf Course, we had to cross the river in our 4WD to get to the parking area. There is parking on the near side if you don't have a 4WD with enough clearance. Trail was muddy to the point it was impassable on the loop portion - good area for gravel or a new bridge. Also there is a re-routing of the trail on the upper end. Dogs are not allowed in the farm area, however they are allowed on leash if on the upper section of the trail. We saw lots of butterflies and birds, a very dark bluebird was a highlight. If you enjoy walking down farm roads beside fields that are in the process of reforestation, this is your trail.

Lots of changes in scenery, beautiful river areas for the dog to play in!

Good for social distancing and for a walk with kids. After rain, the part of trail is flooded and muddy.

Love this trail! Great workout

Its a nice trail. Very repetitive though. Not a lot of elevation gain- would say it's pretty easy.

Excellent for a 1 mile loop!

Lovely trail, soft forest floor paths, a bit rooty here and there but no gravel. Spotted a large area of Atamasco lilies, the highlight of my week. Will definitely be back.

Half way through the loop the trail was impassable due to flooding. Up until then it was very nice. Apparently there was a boardwalk that was destroyed in a recent hurricane. Hope it gets fixed.

Very pretty trail with lots of trees and different types of shrubs. Lots of shade. Roots on the trail so not good for running.

Great trail. Lots of dogs. Flat. Easy. Great vegetation and good creeks for skipping rocks

One of the few hardwood forest in the area. A beautiful hike!

Not as crowded here as it was over the weekend, but still quite crowded. It was a nice trail in the woods. Most of the creeks and streams are dried up. It was a great day and I made it back to my truck just as it began to sprinkle. I had to follow along with the alltrail map because there are many times other trails cross this and it doesn't say which path is the same trail.

Nice trail, easy enough to follow. Signs of spring showing with all the flowers and new growth. It's a bike trail also, so stepping aside for bikers. Was quite busy today on a weekend.

What a gem hidden just off 86! I saw no less than 20 deer running throughout the preserve, enjoyed the elevation changes and the views of the creek. Highly recommended for a perfect hour+ of afternoon/early evening hiking.

It's cool at first. The forest is nice. But gets very repetitive over time. You're walking around in a very small area over and over again, like airport security. Took us 2 hours 15 minutes to do the entire trail, but the weather was really nice (in spring).

This loop changes has slightly varying landscape and is very pretty. Recommended.

Very cool. Landscape changes over time with a creek, a small hill and quite a few small elevation changes. Also lots of flowers to see in spring.
