Great shorter hike, beautiful views, great for kids just be aware that mountain bikers utilize this trail too.

Great hike to a gorgeous view.

Great falls. We met a new friend at the falls and hiked the rest of the day with us. Made for a great time to see the adjacent falls that are well worth seeing!

This trail is definitely predominantly used by mountain bikers as stated in other reviews. Be sure to follow the app’s GPS directional advice because there are a few forks on the trail and you could get lost early on. The trial itself is a moderate hike up and the top is a rock bald with sparse trees and foliage, but the view is beautiful for sunsets. Also note, no camping is allowed in DuPont anywhere.

Great loop and great falls. The short cut trail no longer there so use alternate around airstrip!

Easy double loop, Burnt Mountain has no views but a pleasant walk in the woods. Lots of Mountain bikers. The Cedar Rock segment has some great views and lovely exposed rock sections. You can shorten this loop a little. Done this many times in all seasons. Great winter hike if you live in the area

moderate trail. fun

An easy 5.1 round trip hike from the main parking lot at Dupont Forest. What a gorgeous waterfall, very powerful and ever changing.

Love this trail..it was lightly traveled the day we went..early in the week..until we got to Fawn Lake which seems to be a popular swimming hole..Lake Julia was beautiful and void of people..This is a moderate hike and has beautiful streams..One of my favs!!

a cool waterfall! the trail to get there isn't my favorite (it's all gravel roads), but the view at the end is worth it. passing lake julia and fawn lake is also nice.

beautiful falls , not really a hike though...just walking on service roads...we hiked from hooker falls parking area past high falls over the covered bridge and down conservatory road. only disappointment was the service roads and lack of any views on it.

The falls are very pretty, but I was very disappointed in the “hike” to get to the falls. It’s all on gravel service roads. Also, there really aren’t any views of mountains which I prefer. This is rated as an easy hike, but there was a decent elevation change several times. Maybe it was just the summer heat and humidity, but I was pretty miserable most of the hike. We parked at the Fawn Lake access and took the Fawn Lake Rd trail up to the Airstrip Trail then crossed over to the Conservatory Rd trail and onto the Bridal Veil Falls trail...maybe there was an easier way?? BUT—the falls are very pretty!!
PS: if you want to get wet and swim and stay for a while, there’s a nice mountain lake not far into the hike. If we’d been prepared, we would’ve stayed there and swam. Didn’t see any place to pay a fee so I assume it’s free. People brought in tents and coolers and chairs. We’ll definitely go back just for that!

This was and easy hike and a beautiful falls. We hiked up the rock and actually got up behind the falls. Such a fun day!

Not too challenging. Kids 5, 8, 10, and 12 all hiked it and enjoyed a swim in the middle. Will definitely do it again!

Decent views along the trail for a short hike.

Nice trail, easy hike and only a few bikers today. The river water was higher than usual, when crossing it got tricky since the water was higher than normal and slick rocks.

My mom (51) and I (24) hiked to the falls on March 4th and it was lovely. The hike is not super forested the entire way, but making it to the falls is worth it! There are tables near the falls to picnic if you’d like. There was a decent elevation gain but nothing my mom and I couldn’t handle. This trail would be perfect for mountain biking. This hike is easy to moderate (moderate only when gaining elevation). There are two lakes along the loop you can enjoy as well.

It's actually quite easy, with the only real uphill portions being short and not very steep regardless. Definitely a great place for a family trip. We started the figure 8 with turning left for a clockwise loop and by the end of the lower loop, I *think* that the signs pointing you back to the parking lot are...backwards? I hate to say that because I'm sure it's me who read them wrong but I did the opposite of what they said after they led me back to Nook's portion, and I ended up at my car. (?)

This wasn’t as difficult as I was expecting. Nice views from the top. Wouldn’t recommend going when it’s too wet out because I can imagine the rocks getting pretty slick up there. Will do it again with friends/family but avoid bringing any little ones unless we stuck to the easier side of the mountain. Not the greatest views from below but would probably recommend for bikers.

5 mile short hike on mostly rough forest roads which is well signposted. Little in the way of steep ascents. Good day for hiking with temps in the mid 60' s by noon. Take care around the falls as the rocks are steep and very slick.

This was the first hike I had ever done in North Carolina, it was pretty easy, beautiful and the waterfall was worth the entire hike. We went late in January and only ran into one other hiker. It was cool to walk on the airstrip as well.

Great little hike. we brought the dog and she loved it. The bikers live this trail and connecting trails. Lots of beautiful pines, Moss, and rocks. Kinda reminds you of something you would see in the west.

Very well maintained forest and an easy hike. I recommend the waterfall hike where 5 waterfalls can be viewed in a day. I parked at the hooker falls parking area and reached bridal veil falls 2 hours into the hike. Great day hike and very family and dog friendly.

We did this trail on Jan 8 and there was a lot ice on the trail. Busted my booty courtesy of the ice. We did the full figure 8 and the Nooks trail. Not much to see on the Nook trail but pretty. I would highly recommend taking the complete Cedar Rock Trail. The section unmarked on the map above has the most stunning views. The water in our bladders started freezing later in the day. Dress in layers with special attention to toes and fingers. We saw several of mountain bikers on the trail but no issues with getting in each other’s way. I would imagine in warmer weather that may be an issue. Mostly a lovely walk in the woods and beautiful frozen river views.

Easy hike. The Pitch Pine and Triple Lake portion aren't used as much so it is a great way to avoid the crowds at DuPont.

Really cool to sit at the base of the falls and feel the power of the water under.
