Spectacular views! Nice, short trek for the family and dogs! Fun driving up to as well!

Do not take inexperienced hikers. I went with an inexperienced hiker and from the Craggy Visitors center to falls and then back to the visitor center took 6.5 hours. It’s a fun trail, rough terrain, twisted my ankle multiple times. At a certain point on the trail one of the many falls intersecting the trail consumes the trail. At this section I would advise to take your socks and shoes off and cross. This section seemed dangerous, there used to be a metal wire rope but it broke, and is hanging in the falls. This is the excitement the trail brings. Something to think about too is the view of the sunset from the craggy visitor center is spectacular. So plan the hike perfectly that you can see the falls and the sunset. But make sure to give yourself extra time if you want to do both. The hike is not easy.

Tough but fun and worth the view at the end.

Great trail to take non hiking visitors on (probably why it’s often crowded). Views are wonderful. Take a jacket. Even in summer the temp can be a little unpredictable.

Uphill all the way headed to the pinnacle (all downhill coming back) with several spurs - takes about 30 minutes altogether. Highly recommend.

Great trail to takes the kids on. It can be overwhelming how many people are out here though. It is a very heavily trafficked trail. But my four year old loves it, sitting and snacking up in the bald is her favorite. If you add the pinnacle trail to your day it makes it a bit more worthwhile. Great hike to take the dog on, just be aware that not everyone keeps their dogs on a leash, and you may run across a loose one on your hike. :-/

The parking lot to the trail was still closed, so we hiked 0.8 miles from the nearest parking and had the trail to ourselves most of the way. Beautiful views at the top, easy hike, good for the pup. We did not hike down to the waterfall. Next time, we’ll be bringing a hammock for some R&R at the top if it’s quiet, again.

Very nice hike and perfect weather. This isn't a difficult trail and it has 360 degree views. You can see to the Black Mountains, Grandfather Mountain, and all kinds of views. The climb is a little rocky but very manageable for most people and kids.

The trail continues after the waterfall when starting from the state rd. It’s well marked and not very difficult. 6 months pregnant and didn’t have any issues. Keep an eye on your feet though, as the trail is rocky and full of roots you can trip on if you’re not paying attention.

i spent 2 month hiking spet and oct 2017 and seeing sites on and all round the skline and parkway and through 6 southern states and this little trail gives you some on the most incredible views i had seen during my trip. i know some people need to hike miles and miles to be satisfied but they won't see views like this. if you are anywhere near here (even if you have to drive a few hours) i promise you won't be sorry.

Great hike with the dogs. Stunning views at the top of the trail. Park with trail head is closed during winter through early spring as are other parts of the BRPW.

First, the gate going towards Craggy Gardens (Asheville way) was closed for the season I’m assuming. So we had to take Mountain to Sea trail then go there. It was an okay hike, a lot of inclines. The views weren’t as great as expected. The gazebo was definitely the best view there was I believe. No bathrooms were unlocked either. So that’s something to think about. Overall I’d say it was alright if you have nothing better to do!

Stunning Views from the top!

I hiked to Douglas Falls in the snow and it was really a great experience! The water was really moving, too, thanks to some melt and run-off. There was no one else at the falls, which is rare.

Craggy Pinnacle offers some wonderful 360 degree views from atop the lookout. As it is a shorter hike many people from out of town like to stop in while driving along the blue ridge highway. If it is windy, or the weather isn’t looking nice, keep in mind there is little protection. I live close to Douglas Falls so I actually hike from the Barnardsville side at Douglas Falls and cut through to the pinnacle trail. If you have the time hike down to the Falls!!

Short hike with beautiful views

I have hiked this trail many times and during different seasons. It is especially beautiful when the rhododendrons are in bloom.

The views here are just breathtaking. Excellent trail to do later in the day so you can catch the sunset up top. Definitely will go back in the spring for the blooming rhododendrons.

Can't believe there are no signs for this wonderful hike with stunning views along the way. But Thank you Alltrails app for the help!! Highly recommended, and a moderate climb with some different terrain and vegetation along the path. There is what appears to be a communal hut being built along the way.

Short uphill hike, great for viewing sunsets.

There are some really great lookout spots in offshoots from the trail, including some 330 degree views. Almost 360!

The trail was covered with snow today. It was beautiful but cold as the wind was strong too.
We were the only ones on the trail because there was ice on the road and the ranger closed the road behind us.

Driven by it several times but stopped this time and definitely a great hike with some of the best views in the area. Short hike but packs plenty of punch.

Most memorable trail I’ve done. Extremely difficult, but rewarding! Pack a lunch and eat it when you finally make it to the falls.

Hiked this trail from Craggy Gardens to the falls and back out. Great time on an awesome trail! The falls is well worth the trip, and the trip itself was as enjoyable as any I've hiked. Very narrow, natural trial with many stream crossings. It's not for the couch potato but any moderate to experienced hiker should have no problems. Irma left some trees across the trail as you get close to the falls. Pay attention to relocate the trail after bypassing those obstacles.

Short and easy, very pretty!

It was so pretty. My mom and I hiked out to watch the sunset. There’s this little gazebo on the way to the top that we stopped at to take pictures and they turned out amazing. It looked like the trees and everything were on fire because of the way the sun was setting. I would definitely recommend this hike.
