Great even I the rain.

Great hike for stretching your legs.

Meh. Short hike to some decent views. You can climb the stairs to the top of the tower but it freaked me out so only went up two flights!

Enjoyed this trail but highly disappointed that it was so close to the road and all that noise was constant. Felt like it really took away from the experience.

Great views. Very well marked.

This loop hike will take about 30 minutes. Very kid friendly - grab an activity brochure to let the kids identify plans and bugs. Be careful when crossing the Blue Ridge Parkway at the halfway point as there is a lot of traffic on this stretch.

Network makes for a nice pick and choose hike, with a lovely rambling stream, but for mountain bikers it's a dream. Asheville NC

My review is from the perspective of an amateur landscape photographer

I wanted to like this hike because it’s short and should have had great views from the fire tower. But the views aren’t as good as the Looking Glass pull off on the parkway just a mile to the west. My advice is shoot your pictures from that location and skip this hike

There is one good reason to take this hike and it’s wildflowers. From mid-May thru June there’s are some pretty wildflowers along the path that make the hike worth it. (Assuming you like taking wildflower pics) If you like wildflowers then I would give this hike a 3 star rating but only in late spring

I was near the end of a 200 mile day riding the motorcycle and thought it would be a good trail to hit to see sunset and it was wonderful for a short hike right off of the parkway.

Relaxing hike close to Asheville NC. The hike up is moderately challenging with a few views from the woods. The trip down is mostly along an old fire access road with nicer views, but is quite easy and a bit boring.

Nice walk in the woods.. followed the bent stream... serene in April

Did the smaller loop but it was easy enough with a 5 year old.

A nice place for a stroll with the dogs.

Nice, pretty trail. A lot of mountain bikers around but enough space for bikers and hikers on most parts of the trail. Parked in the area before the “fees” sign by the bathroom. Walk up past the fee sign and there’s a ranger station, we asked him for directions to the trail. If you don’t take the connector and keep going to the left at that point, the trail ends at the lake.

Took our two small dogs here. We were impressed with the condition of the trail. It was very nice to walk on and great to just get some time in outdoors. Very easy hike. Make sure you park at the bottom/end of the road. Don’t go past the gate where there is a sign for a fee. You need to park in the areas at the bottom of that hill then walk up that road for about half a mile to get to the entrance of the trail.

Really liked this one. Very pretty. Trails were super well-maintained. Markers say “more difficult” but it’s really not bad at all

The marking of the overview could have been more clear, though we did find it and were able to enjoy a drink and great view up there. This was my husband and I’s very first hike, it was a good hike, with great views but the elevation was more challenging than we anticipated. Overall, great hike!

Nice walk

fun and close to the house!

Trails themselves were cool and you can get to an awesome tunnel and railroad track. But they were marked terribly so we never knew what trail we were on and had to guess how to get back.

LOVE this trail! It’s not too hard and the end view is beautiful, the tower is amazing! Totally worth it!

WARNING-Don't leave anything of value in the car. Our car window was broken and my wife's purse was stolen. This hike is close to town and this is why we chose it but comes at a price. There is also a frisbee golf course here and spoke to a few of the locals who frequent the park and said the homeless has been responsible for multiple break ins.
Hike was decent but break in put a damper on our trip.

Nice run but encountered too many dogs that were not on a leash.

Easy trail through the woods. Nice place to stretch your legs while visiting the visitor center.

Nice easy walk through the forest , have walked this trail many times with my dogs.

This is a fairly easy trail to hike. Steady climb but not difficult. Very nice views of the surroundings from the top.

Not many hikers and only a few hikers. Very easy hike.

if you can get out and hike in the snow it is a winter wonderland..parkway is closed so park at gate and walk in to trail or stay on parkway..beautiful!!!

always something different to see with the changing seasons..we headed towards the Folk Art Center and then trek to Rattlesnake Lodge..great hike with changing elevations. Bring water for you and your 4 legged friend although you can get water at Folk Art Center
