I've only done half the trail because there are sections that are in a town and a short double yellow line highway. 90% of the trail is great, but there are sections around mile 15 that are extremely steep even to walk with your mountain bike. However, it does have great woods and scenery along the 90% part of it.

Nice trail!

Great & easy trail perfect for small dogs. Pretty awesome view of the dam. Would love to return to mountain bike. Which reminds me to warn hikers that some parts of the trail you share with cyclists (some are polite and some will run you down if you don’t get out of the way).

This is a nice easy walk. The path is paved so if you are pushing a stroller its very easy. The terrain is rolling so it's easy on the knees and feet. Part of it does go along the Saw Mill River Parkway so its a little loud and not relaxing. But once you get to the east side its a very nice view and good for bird watching along the lake. There are some nice bridges and creeks which must be beautiful in the winter. You can have a picnic on many of the large open fields. It is free to park after Labor Day.

Nice dirt trail, well marked, with very few inclines. My wife and I only biked from Glenwood to Tarrytown, but I am already planning to come back to do the whole length of the trail. Yes, you do go past a lot of back yards, but you also get to ride through a lot of historic river towns along the way.

NOT what it looks like. you're in people's backyard most of the time. then it leads you out onto trafficked roads for the last two miles. the pictures are misleading and the dam is not where the trails end. other than that what's in actual trails are pretty nice. but if you're looking for the dam it's 4 miles after the end

Great views Excellent trails Easy

Not really a hike, it is a walk in a small park next the highway. water park in summer must be fun.

I started this same trail a little earlier from the Yonkers entry point where I used to live and stopped in the Sleep Hollow area. When I come back to visit I will complete the hike. Still a great hike for beginners that want some quiet, yet invigorating time in nature while still being close to the 'everyday' world. You will see nice views of the Hudson River and plenty of scenic shots throughout the trail.

A very nice park to walk. The loop has varied scenery. It is never boring. The path is very well maintained and paved all around. A pass is required during season. The park is very popular for family picnic and celebrations. The tennis courts are very good, convenient and free to use. There is a cute gazebo - a good picture spot. Swimming pools are open during the summer. A very good park for jogging. In the summer it is nice to lie on the grass and soak up the sun, or relax in the shade with a good book. Kid-friendly. Two big, convenient parking lots. A wonderfully quiet escape very close to the busy city.

This is a delightful easy walk in the middle of busy streets and parkways. Bring your dog on a leash or a baby in the carriage. Good walking park.

Everything you need. Nice bathroom. Many trails. A creepy staircase bridge. Multiple playgrounds. Water park will probably be crowded in summer. But i enjoyed my time. No serious hiking. Just easy trail walking.
