Lovely hike - varied terrain, little foot traffic, good exercise but not too challenging

FYI- Arden Surebridge trail section before you get to island pond unnamed trail is completely underwater due to beaver activity, about 120ft of trail is under 2ft of water!

I love this hike. It’s two loops but there’s lots of opportunities to make it longer (or shorter). What I like most is the variety of terrain - nice forest walking, scrambling over some rocks, great views, stream crossing etc.

Great all around hike that has it all. Not too challenging, but would be a good hike for any moderate to expert hiker.

The terrain is varied and you will have a lot of rocks to step on so make sure to wear proper boots.

Will hike it again!

lovely hike! went with my brother and two doggies :) definitely keep your dogs leashed, as this trail is busy on weekends & nearly every group we saw had a dog with them. great day hike, we added about 1 mile on the lichen trail for views of island pond!

This hike has a lot of variety compared to easy/beginner hikes. I would recommend this as a hike to transition into moderate hikes. The environment isn't as overwhelmingly desolate or scary as national park trails. Not many people passing through, saw maybe 4-5 pairs of people, both only very briefly at the beginning/end of the hike.

Great trail if you prefer alone time. Only missed a couple of markers & had to double back due to tree blowdown. Rugged terrain in that there were many areas with jutting rocks & roots, but was a great hike nonetheless. Several areas required navigating running water but it had just rained heavily in the days prior. Would definitely hike here again.

Great hiking trail. My watch had the trail at about 8.6 without the offshoots shown on the map. Diverse terrain with no specific scenic outlook but overall a fun trail. Saw a few small waterfalls and the trail starts at a large lake.

Beautiful hike and as described moderately challenging. Apple Health app said we did about 120 flights, which is spot on for the elevation indicated. Ascents were enough to get the blood pumping but nothing crazy. Also came across a mid-19th century cemetery! A surprising amount of streams and waterfalls which made for some gorgeous photos and really helped this hike stand out. Would definitely hike it again!

Bring some good waterproof boots!!!

This was a fun trail. VERY rocky. It was like a rock explosion every minute. Fun to traverse through the woods. Lots of people with doggies! Some cute rock scramblish spots, but no real climbing unless you go off trail and climb up one of the cliff sides yourself. And you will pass 3 of those before you’re done. Oh and no views on this loop. Must connect elsewhere for all that.

Awesome trail.... Great Iron mine off the beaten path

Very hard to find the turnaround to make it a loop. Ended up 7 miles away from our car while it was getting dark. But it was beautiful and we had fun!
