Great trail for the family. Paved path for about a third of the trail although the accessibility factor is rather limited as the path has some large holes and is rather narrow at times. Great for traditional hiking though. Once the paved path ends the trail is much more natural but still manageable. The view from the summit is great! It took us about an hour up but that included lots of photos and critter spotting breaks!

Great hike for my family! Somewhat challenging for my 9 and 6 year old but nothing unattainable! The view at the top, including from the fire tower and the nearby bench were wonderful even on a hazy day! The trails were well marked and a nice blend of natural rocks, small slopes, tree roots, etc. Watch your step and you will be good!

Short climb to a small clearing on the summit. Views in mainly one direction but peaceful at the top. Kid friendly more sandy than some but still steep in short stretches. You do get noise from the road but it’s still a nice accessible hike for those without much time or looking for multiple climbs in one day.

Very nice short hike. The Steward was very nice and informative. Not my favorite fire tower view, but still quite nice.

Very easy walk to a great, dog-friendly swimming beach

Absolutely amazing hike and work out! I’m in fairly decent shape already but this made my thighs burn a little and I had a nice sweat by the time I reached the top. It took me an hour with 3 stops for water. On the way back down I didn’t stop and made it in 27 min. It’s all up the mountain and lots of rocks and roots. Not too many places are flat until you get closer to the top. The view is incredible. Make sure you go to the top of the fire tower and take pictures. You won’t want to miss that! I will be back again!

Great for kids

Short and easy hike to the lake. Nice views and a good place to swim after hiking Ampersand. Lots of mosquitoes though.

A nice short climb to a decent view. You never do get away from the road noise, though. 2.5 stars

Nice hike. Brought friends and kids (3 and 5 yrs old). This was the first hike ever for the kids and they did great! 5 year old walked the whole way and the 3 yr old made it almost the whole way up, and did make it the whole way down. Volunteer at the cabin at the top wrote them little certificates for climbing the fire tower, which the kids LOVED. Hiked as first of the Tupper Lake Triad.

Did this trail first thing on a drizzly/rainy morning (6:30am). Only ones on the trail for a quick hike to complete the Tupper Lake Triad. Despite the rain, the views were pretty, though not 360 degrees. Enjoyed this hike more than I expected. Would be really easy with kids/dogs.

This sign at the trail says .6 to the summit though I checked in at the sign and was on the summit at .4 and the round trip came in at .9.Was actually more challenging than I had anticipated for such a short distance though not much of a view at the summit.Had it taken longer I would have been disappointed but for a quick 30 min or so hike it’s ok

Super easy and nice trail. Did it with my 15 and 10 year olds, before you realize it your at the top. No real climbs or obstacles. View was nice but you can hear the car traffic all the way to the top. Parking across the road is a bit sketchy.

Short and sweet with some nice (but not particularly breathtaking) views at the top

Very easy walk through the woods. Absolutely no bugs. Once you get down to the beach it’s a beautiful sandy beach perfect for an afternoon picnic.

We have been up this ridge a number of times in the past but always got there via canoe or kayak while we were camping/fishing. This is the first time visiting Lowe's Ridge (aka Hitchen's Pond overlook) via a hiking trail. The hike into Low's Ridge is an easy to moderate hike along a wide dirt road with lots of view of wetlands on both sides. There are even stunning views of Silver Lake Mountain and it amazing ledges. This is a must for any adventure seeker. From the ridge, you can see miles and miles of the Bog River and the Adirondack Park in general. You can even see Mt. Marcy on a clear day!

did this trail as part of the tupper lake triad. it was cloudy with light rain, still a very pleasant trail.

Very nice hike. Really awesome that the first bit is paved for wheelchair access. However, a decent portion of the paved path has become eroded/bumpy and I would imagine having difficulty actually using it with a wheelchair. Hiking it is no issue whatsoever, and the rest of the trail is in great shape and is well-maintained and marked. Of the three Tupper Triad hikes, it's just not quite as exciting as the other two in my opinion. Even so, still well worth the hike with beautiful views at the top.

Exceptionally well-maintained and marked trail. If you are in decent shape this will not seem particularly steep at all. The fire tower is in very good shape and offers the best views on this mountains. However, if you are not up to climbing the tower for whatever reason, there are two very good lookouts with benches and big rocks with which to view the mountains, lakes, and rivers in the distance. Great hike!

Great hike. Well marked except read the brochure during the hike if you want to know about the different plants/flowers. Starts off vertical and continues that way for most of the trail. Second fire tower of the day (first one was Cathedral Rock)

A nice, easy hike that has great views of the upper and lower Racquette falls. Was able to get very close. Has a portage route near the end that I did not use. Along the way there is a ranger cabin and a large campsite that seems to be used for scout outings. Kind of ruined the seclusion aspect for me. Other than that it is a nice interesting hike.

A good workout to finish the triad. Volunteer was very informative. Fire tower views amazing. Glad I went early as it’s a popular spot.

Excellent for the family with some incline. Views from top and fire tower were amazing. Volunteer and dogs at the top we’re an added bonus!

This is a nice quick hike that gives you views of The Seward Range. Not difficult at all to do

This was our second hike this morning in our quest to complete the TL Triad. There were lots of mosquitoes despite it only being between 45-50 degrees. Bug repellent is a must!

Hiked the TL Triad this morning. The weather was great and the hike up amazing. Mt. Arab was the first one of the three. The trail is very well maintained and lucky for us no bugs since we started when it was 40 degrees.

We do it every year great fishing we pull kayaks up the trail then float down to Axton Landing on Cory’s road. We have been told we are the first and only ones to pull kayaks up this trail so say high when you see us in July

Stairway to heaven!!!! Did it in 2016

Nice easy walk! Beautiful view at the top!
