Beautiful, easy hike.

simple hike up gorge to large waterfall

Very easy trail with nice views. Populated. I’ll have to try the other trails!

Not a bad trail at all, not too much elevation gain. It seems most of the uphill is on the way to the fall, and it feels much easier to walk back. If you are in the area, I recommend it! We went after 6pm, so was not charged to park. Since it was a weekday evening, there were very few people, and in fact, we had the falls to ourselves for about 25 minutes!

Go early and don’t pay $8 to park . Well maintained and beautiful . Quick hike too no more than hour total and that was taking our sweet time . Beautiful limestone rock bed on stream and sharp steep cliffs , largest single drop for waterfall east of Colorado river .

Hiked it south to north, opposite of the map on this site. Blew out a tire on a seasonal road getting there, be careful driving. Rained the first day, very very muddy. Scenery is beautiful and exciting, passing through woods and public grazing land. Stopped raining by the time we got to where we were going to camp at foster pond. Lots of spaces with fire pits in the woods surrounding the pond. Pond is clean and was very warm for early June following lots of rain, went swimming at night. Hiked the rest of the way to parmenter rd the next day with excellent weather. Fun hike for a variety of people, ages and experience. There are lots of connecting trails that you could add in to your hike to get more miles. Wouldn’t recommend for dogs due to the mud. There was running water throughout the hike this time of year in addition to several ponds, be careful and filter it well though. Lots of poison ivy on the northern half of the trail.

This is a cool state park. The upper trail has some great views, then the short lower falls trail takes you right up close. Check out my full write up which includes directions and other things to look out for. eastcoasthiker.com/trails/taughannockfalls

Not my favorite waterfall trail in the area (yay Buttermilk Falls!) but worth doing for a quick hike. Very easy out and back.

Dog friendly, easy walk to the falls. Really pretty and peaceful.

Crowded but worth the short hike. Spectacular falls!

Nice easy out and back hike. April 13, 2019 the trail was a little wet and muddy.

Hike in the canyon if you can! Bring your waterproof shoes!

The perfect trail for a super easy walk. Waterfall is still roaring with a cold spray off. Definitely recommend for a quick nature walk.

Trail was very easy and breathtakingly beautiful with the snow and ice. It was a very cold day but well worth the mile walk to the waterfall.

This is a super fun trail with stunning views. We walked the North Rim in the snow without a problem, but South Rim was closed for weather so we had to double back instead of looping like we had planned. We still enjoyed it and plan to go back when the snow melts!

Very easy hike! Beautiful waterfall at the end! Usually very busy on weekends.

Extremely easy, flat trail. Not very long and all open trail. Perfect with kids and dogs. Beautiful falls at the end.

beautiful when there has been a lot of rain

easy trail. pretty scenery

Spectacular waterfall really tall and some tall gorges surrounding the pool of water below. Love this hike

Very nice/easy flat hike. Beautiful waterfall. Very tall. One of the prettiest.

A nice easy walk with a spectacular view of Taughannock Falls. Lots of people coming & going but never too crowded to get nice photos. The gorge is as spectacular as the actual falls.

Easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. you can get close enough to feel the most off the falls.

Great and Easy hike! Beautiful waterfall :)

Easy out and back to a beautiful waterfall.

This is a great trail! We started at Cass Park and biked to the falls. The slight uphill grade on the way to the falls makes for an easy ride back. Several really lovely spots along the way.

Easy trail out and back 3/4 of a mile. Glorious waterfall at the end. (I should add the waterfall is only glorious if there’s been considerable rain lately)We did walk in the water for a bit but it is super slippery so we got out and back on the trail. We also spent sometime at the beach across the street which was crowded but the water was so refreshing that we didn’t care.

incredible place.
