A nice easy walk with a spectacular view of Taughannock Falls. Lots of people coming & going but never too crowded to get nice photos. The gorge is as spectacular as the actual falls.

Easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. you can get close enough to feel the most off the falls.

Great and Easy hike! Beautiful waterfall :)

Easy out and back to a beautiful waterfall.

This is a great trail! We started at Cass Park and biked to the falls. The slight uphill grade on the way to the falls makes for an easy ride back. Several really lovely spots along the way.

Easy trail out and back 3/4 of a mile. Glorious waterfall at the end. (I should add the waterfall is only glorious if there’s been considerable rain lately)We did walk in the water for a bit but it is super slippery so we got out and back on the trail. We also spent sometime at the beach across the street which was crowded but the water was so refreshing that we didn’t care.

incredible place.

Excellent walk. Blue Stone path extremely wide. Wheelchair friendly with a little assistance. Kid friendly also. Fall was beautiful. Definitely would do again. And would like to hike a few trails next time.

Easy out and back trail. We went in the evening after a light rain. Not many people, and doing the trail in the evening gave it a very different feel. The falls are beautiful.

We went to the overlook point n saw and we were not thrilled and then we drove to the gorge trail head, We started the hike and its less than a mile once we reached the falls it was surely a great feeling. We went after heavy rains so we could see decent amount of water but if you go in mid summer I doubt if you can hardly enjoy the falls. The gorge trail head is right next to Cayuga so we spent some time there as well, worth a visit!!

I arrived at the Northern terminus at around 6 on a Friday (mid July) and parked there overnight. I headed South to Foster pond to camp overnight. There were a few campsites near the pond and they were all free, although it looked like they filled up by around noon on Saturday. Saturday I hiked to the Southern end of the trail and then back to the northern terminus where I parked. I started around 9am and I was in the car around 230.

The terrain was relatively flat. There were parts where the trail wasn't well maintained, there were some spots where downed trees blocked the trail.

I didn't see any streams that had running water, they were all dried up. I filled up my water at Foster pond.

One of my favorite spots in Ithaca!

just went today, there was just a trinkle of water where there is normally a big fall, which is disappointing. normally a beautiful spot however!

Well maintained. Lovely walk

Very easy walk towards the waterfall. The hike around the rim is a nice walk but the views are not as great as expected. Some days the waterfall is underwhelming.

Nice walk around the rim. Mostly flat and graveled trail. Pushed my son with his broken femur in wheelchair. A few little incline workouts with the wheelchair, but no problem overall.

Very easy. Lots of shade. A lot of people. Great hike after finishing the Rim Trails.

Great trail! Started in Cass park, grade change to Taughannock Falls was hardly noticeable. 9.1 miles to the overlook 18.2 round trip.

Nice hike around the rim. It’s about 4 miles. Great views. The gorge trail is spectacular. Super easy. You can walk the entire length in the water. Great for kids. Can catch Minos and crayfish.

The gorge trail was heavily trafficked today. It is a nice flat trail with the option of walking in the streambed, as long as the park patrol does not care. The reward at the end is a great view of the waterfall. It is more impressive from the view from the South Rim trail.

I've hiked it many times. Trail maintanance has noticeably declined over the years

We had a great 3 day trip on this trail. It was well marked through enjoyable terrain. We traveled south 5.85 miles to Foster pond. This was the best camp site with a close by water source. We then traveled to the southern end of the trail, had lunch at the leanto and returned to Foster pond. It was a great 12 mile treck with a variety of trail and not much elevation change. We hiked out to our car on day 3. It was a fun challenge for fairly new backpackers. Thanks to those who maintain the trail. Your efforts are obvious!

Walked this gorge trail first before tackling the rim trail. It's beautiful inside the gorge - don't forget to look up along the walls! Read the interpretive signage along the way, too. If you prefer to avoid lots of people, go early in the day (and get good parking!). Accessible to wheelchairs, and seating for those who experience fatigue.

Nice trail with a beautiful view at the end. You will see Taughennock waterfalls from the other side than the usual few points.
