We had to bushwhack from where we parked. We saw people filling up water jugs and what looked like a trailhead. It soon turned to no trail. We used the All trails to guide us to the actual trail. There was parking and a portapot. So if you see the spring water keep driving and you won’t have to bushwhack. Well shaded with a couple good views and a variety of terrain.

Great trail with lots of variety- rocky terrain, light scramble, good views and valleys. Took our dog and she loved it! Took a little over two hours.

Nice and quiet, only 5-6 parking spots. Saw a very large black snake! Great rock overlook about half way through.

Only did the loop. About half the loop is an old seasonal road repurposed into a biking/skiing trail. A couple really beautiful overlooks on the way.

Sooo nice & empty!! The views are amazing, the waterfalls & bridges are so nice & its an even amount of various terrains. Have a pole/stick ready!!

Great trail. Mostly easy-moderate, with a fairly steep descent towards the end (if hiking the loop counter-clockwise). Most of the trail is well-shaded; hard to believe the entire area was once deforested, trees cut down to fuel an old iron furnace, the remains of which greet hikers near the trailhead. Several nice overlooks, a couple of mysteriously massive stone walls, and a beautiful cascading river.

Great trail. Have done it twice recently. Varied terrain. Ups and downs. None too steep nor too long. Rock scrambles. Mossy at elevation. Several beautiful vistas. A little waterfall. Beautiful breeze and few people. Brought my dog who is small and could do all the climbs.

Pretty Wildflowers. varied terrain

The directions to this trail is terribly inaccurate. Had to read a physical map to get to a near by parking lot and hike through to the actual start. It was nice enough but muddy from recent rain fall. Some bugs that could be distracting while huffing and puffing up a hill. all in all, a food hike.

We were lucky to snag some spots in the parking lot and didn’t encounter too many people on the hike up and back. A little muddy to start, but then cleared up. We ate a picnic lunch at the end of the trail before coming back. Not many great “views” but was perfect for challenging, had great views of the woods, and people were very respectful on the hike.

Perfect walk

High water table gave us amazing waterfalls and enjoyable laughing brooks.

Great moderate trail for the day hike. It is a rocky trail with waterfalls, high point views and little ponds.

Lots of bugs and not great views

Great walk in the woods. Closer to 13 miles than 11. Very generous “moderate” designation, this is definitely on the hard side with the distance and elevation, but worth every step if you’re looking for an engaging day hike.
