If you are climbing this in the winter you will not be able to park at the trailhead. Plan on parking .5 miles before the trailhead at the snowplow turnaround. Microspikes were helpful in some sections of the trail, and useless in others. Overall a good hike. Beware of ice on the tower if you decide to climb it. The summit is very well maintained!!

Nice for a short hike!

We only walked the west loop in Dec. It was well marked and frozen at that time. The wooden pathway was interesting. we saw a lot of wildlife footprints in the snow; mainly fox, coyotes and deer. We will try the eastern loop at a later date.

Awesome trail! Nice and short, but lots of fun! View is pretty cool!

Did this one as part of the Catskill Firetower Challenge. The biggest challenge is perhaps just making it to the trailhead as it’s rather remotely located. The hike was a very quick jaunt to the top to see the observers cabin, luxury outhouse and of course the tower. The views were good from the tower.

Trail is well marked, pretty steep climb in spots. Great views of the Catskills.

Kids loved it here. Would recommend it for a nice, kid friendly, family day.

We did this walk because it was raining so we didn’t want to hike a mountain. Nice little hike, beautiful homes all along the way, makes me want to play the lottery and hope for a win! Flat walk with markers all around of the nearby mountains and their elevation. Ends in town, lots of stores to look around in.

Nice walk. Definitely not a hike. Expected it to be more scenic.

Loved this! Easy to find and great for families. We hiked down to the lake and enjoyed the coves and boat watching.

great trails ! very nice a lot hills and forest, woodlands

Don't listen to the other post's when they say that there is obstructed views. When you get to the top, you think there is no view but you have to go down about 200 feet and there's a clearing and the view is spectacular. 180 degree views. Highly recommend!!!!

Relaxing walk/run around Mirror Lake. Lots of tourists and busy place but very nice.

If you heading to see shelving rock falls, be sure to do this quick hike to catch some summit views of lake George too. Very easy hike for any age or active level.

This is a nice stroll around the lake not a hike.Good restaurants along the way, smoke signals is our favorite, and you have some good views of mirror lake from the other side.

We really enjoyed this hike. It reminds us of The Pinnacle in comparison. Once you reach the top you’ll see the lake but the views are limited. Definitely follow the small paths down...it will lead you to an open area with views. The views are amazing!!

Easy trail. Kids had a great time. Doubled back to the little waterfall after summit. Worth the hike!

very easy. great for a hot day

Great hike, easy except for the Rocky riverbed start, remainder very easy and great views of Lake George. Definitely going back to try some of the other trails on the area

Well marked and easy hiking trail. Once you reach the summit, be sure to follow a small path to the left to a clearing overlooking Bolton and Lake George. Stunning views!

Nice and easy hike with a spectacular view of Lake George. One of my favorites!

Definitely an easy hike but make sure once you get to the peak to take the narrow foot path down about 100 feet or so to get a better view of the lake.

Great area, we drove all the way out to the end of the road. From there it's a 10 minute walk down to the waters edge. beautiful area. Brings you down to the shore right by "Hen and Chickens Island".
