If you park in the lot at the end of Boxart street, you will have to deal with the steep hill down to the water, and then back up when you’re done. It’s not awful, I pushed a stroller down and up it. But still steep. The trail is paved and beautiful along the water. My kids loved it.

Really pretty trail run through the woods. You don't realize how close to the lake and Rochester you are! This loop is the orange trail. Then cut east to Durand Lake (blue trail) and ran back to the parking lot along the lake. Eastman Lake loop was not as muddy as the Durand Lake loop.

Pretty. I could see where i kayak in the warmer weather. Very poorly marked. Monroe County has some work to do. Glad to have water & highway as points of reference for where I was. I’d rather do a more hikers less bikers trail.

Muddy in a few spots. Going from Coyote Den to Overlook was a steep climb.

Great trail for biking. Not bad for hikers but the mud is slippery in some places. Watch out for bikes.

This is a hidden trail that people don’t often explore, but there are plenty of people using it for fishing the river. There is a little steep downhill that’s rocky and can easily be muddy but you get an amazing feeling of being in the wilderness when you’re actually in the heart of a city.

The Mill Race Trail is a short, fairly narrow trail that begins and ends at the Hazelwood Grove Lodge. The majority of the trail runs alongside a marshy area and can be quite wet and muddy in the springtime. Nice walk away from the more heavily used trails, but it is quite short.

A variation. Such great options. A little muddy, but that’s to be expected early spring.

Wear shoes for wet and icy, it’s super slushy

Although this is a peaceful walk, I don’t know if I’d necessarily call it a hike. I was mainly walking on a paved path for cars to drive on...not a trail. Not to mention for the last like 15 min of the hike all I could hear were sirens. I like being in the woods and on a trail escaping city noise. Still, a very enjoyable walk—I had a nice time and was able to clear my head! I also would like to try this again during the summer when I am able to see more of the grassy trails.
