Take this trail from Boxart all the way to Ontario Beach Park and back! It is quite a walk, but enjoyable...I am guessing a little over 5 miles round trip.

Went running with my brother here last winter. Muddy as most of the trail is in fields. Would recommend spring/summer on dry days. Good for dog walking.

Great scenic trail with views. Beautiful area with a bridge that crosses part of the river. Hidden gem for sure!

Come here often throughout the year. Always a nice quick peaceful hike with great views.

Beautiful and scenic easy trail. A hidden gem in the area.

Parking at the end of Boxart. Not really a "trail" run but a beautiful run all the same.

It was a relatively flat walk. First part was across a long bridge then into the woods on wood chip covered trails. Nice walk out and back.

Nice views great for family walks

If you are here for scenic views, be disappointed. If you are here to see nature and beautiful forest and wetland, look no farther. Birds sing, even late in the year. Deer bound across your way, and it is beautiful. A heron takes flight from the marshes and settles down again a distance away. Bring hiking boots, due to the mud. The trails are easily accessible, and at this time of year, the trails are mostly clear, save for the odd person Nordic walking the trails. However, the trail length of 7.5 miles is misleading. I followed the purple, then the green trails, and it came out to something like 4.0 miles. If you hiked all of the trails together, including the red and blue, you'd probably come out to 7.5 miles. Overall, though, it's definitely a place I'd come back to again, for hiking, birding, and just watching wildlife.

Nice scenic oath. Mostly flat. I do wish that they did not blactop the path.

Park at lot at the end Of Boxart Street and go north to the Lake and return. About 4.5 miles round trip. Nice river views and wildlife.

Was able to walk to Lake Ontario from the parking lot and back. Very dog friendly park! Scenic views and even saw some deer.

Loved it! Hidden gem in the city!

Beautiful easy walking path and it's so serene and peaceful here. Filled with beautiful sounds of nature - crickets and other insects plus birds. We only saw about five people during the hour we were here. Nice and relaxing nature walk!

Scenic. Can get to the Steven B. Roman while unloading. Some trash from inconsiderate people.

great place for some history and beautiful views

Great place, small turtles hidden everywhere, beautiful swans! Cool giant boat. Family and pet friendly park.

very nice and quiet walk.

The mileage in the description for this loop is not accurate-- the Ridge Trail is 1.4 miles long, and the Wetlands trail is 2.1 miles, so the loop of these two trails is 3.5 miles rather than 7.5. The trails are walking rather than hiking trails, and are generally flat, wide, mowed grass trails. Sections of the trail are very muddy, with parts ankle deep.

Beautiful trail. Hiked near Brighton area. Would love to bike the entire trail sometime (60 miles towards Niagara Falls).

Not sure why this is rated as moderate. Easy walk from parking lot to the bridge aside from a steep hill that leads you to the trail. I went paddle boarding here last year, but the dock isn't even visible anymore due to high water levels. Many people walking, biking, and fishing. Trail is well kept.

Uh, not scenic. Ok trail, sketchy is some areas (over bridge across river heading to lower falls).

Beautiful hike. Some hills on the trail from Ontario Beach Park to Turning Point. It's like a hidden gem in Rochester, not a lot of traffic! Love this area!

Great hike

It's okay for a walk, combination paved trail and boardwalk. Follows the Genesee River, which the river banks definitely need some cleaning up from litter.

We do this trail a lot. We usually part off of Boxart and walk down the steep hill to the boardwalk- we follow the boardwalk to the end and turn around- though the trail does go further than that. It's a nice trail to use with a stroller, though the hill near the parking lot is a bit tough. We had followed some of the trails through the woods there too and liked them- they they are not as stroller-accessible. The trail is generally well maintained and clean. There is plenty of parking and it's a nice place to watch water fowl and I often see people fishing there as well. We had seen lost of turtles as well and frequently see fish jumping out of the water. It's a nice trail for families.

Very muddy and a lot of trees have fallen onto the path. I think the loop around the park was okay, but the trails within the loop looked more interesting (orange and blue I think).
