Northville to Lake Placid, New York Map

This was a good trail. I started in rain and had rain for the first three days. Got to Cedar Lake on third night and in the morning there was sun so I stayed another day. Because of the weather the trail was very sloppy but that's hiking in June. The reroute around the West Canada lakes is terrible. Very treacherous. A lot of maintenance is needed here. Bridges are washed out and beavers have dammed up the trail.
Aside from the problems around that area the trail is fantastic. I was very lucky and spotted a moose at the Cedar River Flow.

Done it twice, spring 2016 and summer 2015. Amazing, almost nobody on the trail and beautiful scenery the whole way.

Great backpacking trip. Solitude is the name of the game.

This is a wonderful trail to hike.

An amazing 9 day trek. Trail can be extremely wet and muddy, but no major elevation changes.

It was a great experience. Magical in fact!

Our hike of the NPT N-S 15 days Awesome trail and as always thank you to all the stewards of the woods.............

This portion of the trail is my favorite so far. You can't beat the magical beauty of Tirrell Pond.

As with all sections of this trail it is muddy but what fun! The travel can be rough in spots but for the most parts managable. BIG THANK YOUS to the trail stewards for all the work completed and future projects:)
