Nice view, trail up the mountain is a bit eroded

Very gradual until the top with lots of spots for the dog (or humans) to swim on a hot day. Great views! Somewhat crowded by the thirteenth lake area. Our dog hikes often, and I know some said their dogs couldn’t make it all the way. Our Aussie/husky 50 lb medium dog had no issues on this one, but smaller or less agile dogs may have a tougher time.

Beautiful trail, nice and easy and dog friendly until the top. We got pretty close to the top and had to turn around due to our dogs sliding on the rocks and unable to climb the roots of trees. We boosted our dogs a few times to get closer but didn't feel comfortable or safe enough bringing them further. Loved the view of the lake, pond and stream on the way up.

Terrific hike with a fair amount of scrambling at the top. Lots of water (lake, pond and streams!) for our 2 dogs. Took 3 of us 4 hours to make it to the top of the peak and back. Even on a cloudy day, the peak was worth it. Will definitely be doing this one again.

Like others said, confusing to get to, but worth the trip! We took our 2 dogs and it was a good hike for all of us. Short hike up hill for a rewarding view. Easiest way to get to it is from Garnet Hill Lodge, go towards the back down to the Ski Shop, up the hill across from that to W Blake Pond trail until you see a sign for Balm of Gilead.

Great hike to the Peaked Pond with nice views of thirteenth lake, a stream, and rolling hills. The last mile to the mountain was steep, challenging, and made slippery due to the light rain. It was definitely not easy, and we had to grab onto roots and rocks at times. We made it to the top but didn’t have a view due to the clouds. There were trails to a couple of ponds on route to Peaked Pond that are worth another trip to explore.

Terrific hike. everything you could ask for. Beautiful lake to start and end the hike on (go swimming). Moderate hike to an awesome pond. and a Tough ascent up the mountain to get a good workout. great views. the trail,is aroimd 7.5 miles total.

This was an incredible hike! Great workout and spectacular views. At a brisk pace and with about 2 mi of trail running on the way back, it took us around 3 hours to get to the top of Peaked Mountain and back to the parking lot. Closer to 8 miles, not 6.2. If you’re planning to climb to the top and not turn around at the pond, know that the last section should be rated difficult and the hike overall is moderate not easy in my opinion.

A word of warning. This is a beautiful walk along Peaked Mt. Brook to the Pond. The Easy rating is appropriate here. But the trail up from the pond has steep rocky sections. It is enjoyable and the views make it worth the effort but it does require effort.

Hiked from garnet lodge, will admit was confusing to get to the trail. Hike short and sweet and was surprised by the awesome views for such a short hike. Can easily be done by kids and beginners.

Great, easy hike! The pond is fantastic and definitely worth the trip! The trail isn’t well maintained. One section is buggy and there is poison ivy. But everything is great!

Everything you could want in a hike! Long enough to give yourself a real workout with a good deal of challenging climbing. Breathtaking scenery and variation in environment.

13th lake is such a scenic sight for the first 0.9 miles or so. Then a peaceful stream with a few small waterfalls borders your hike right after this. Then it's a pleasant walk in the woods, along with a few marshes. Your penultimate destination is the Peaked Mountain Pond, which is so serene and clear. Perfect to catch a catnap or lunch. The hike to Peaked Mountain from the pond will likely take you roughly 30-45 minutes, depending on your fitness and pace. We took our time and it took us 40 minutes from the pond.

The summit is a gem. 180 degree views, with multiple viewing points. The pond that you came from is below you, along with a small glimpse of 13th lake, Gore Mountain, and other peaks in the distance.

The hike is around 7-7.5 miles rather than 6.2. Also, while it would more appropriately be labeled as moderate in my opinion, still a great and very accessible hike if you are in at least decent shape and have hiked in the Adirondacks before. Our party had a total hiking time of 5 hours, with 1 hour for lunch and pictures.

Hiked this yesterday morning from the Garnet Hill Lodge Ski Shack. Nice easy trail through the GHL property to State Land. Trail up the hill was pretty tame and in great shape. There was no blow down and only a few muddy spots. The view from the top was spectacular. We stopped at GHL for lunch, what a treat. This would be a great family hike.

This wooded hike was rewarding in the end with a solemn and serene view! Took my DH and I about 50 minutes to ascend and about the same to descend. The main picture for this trail was not the view we experienced but maybe that would be seen taking the other trail (took Old Farm Rd.). Since this is a wooded hike, it would be more enjoyable to revisit this in the Summer for the moving and less slippery creek flows or the Fall for the picturesque foliage! If you plan to do this hike anytime soon/this Winter, wear microspikes or waterproof boots with good tread - dried leaves can be deceiving! ;-)

great climb along the brook with many cascades. BUT the trail from the pond to the summit is not "easy" moderate at best. certainly worth the effort.

Nice hike. Steep only for the last 1/4 mile or so which does require a little scrambling. Multiple stream crossings, ponds and a great view at the open rock summit.

love the 13th lake area, brought our Akita with us and he loves being able to get a fresh drink the majority of the hike, you can get a great view of the high peaks from a distance but, it needs to be a clear day, was a little windy on top but, that's to be expected would highly recommend this hike, good little burn, and great payoff, recommend basil and wicks great burgers and the beer isn't bad either

This hike is beautiful; peeks of river, winding paths, but due to the steep/scrambling end; I would not call this an easy hike. Views at the top are incredible and worth it.

I don't know why this hike is considered difficult. We've hiked in many times including snow shoe trips in winter. Recently hiked with young parents carrying a year old daughter without any effort. Wonderful views of 13th Lake. A senior citizen hiker.

We did this trip several years ago. The last bit is difficult, but the top views are spectacular and well worth the effort.

The trail is well marked. The trail could use a little brushing back in spots, but it's not that tight. The segment to the summit is quite steep, but there are plenty of handholds and compared to other trails in the ADKs is not extreme. There is significant erosion so I would not attempt in rain--as of yesterday the muddy areas and stream crossings were fine. Bottom line--views were completely worth it as was cooling off in 13th lake at the conclusion.

The view from the summit was great. VERY steep at the end! The trail was overgrown in some spots.

It's a very long but easy nature walk at first. My group was unsure where the mountain we were climbing even was at first since the walk from the parking lot was so long. Get ready to cross a lot of streams and waterfalls on the way! The last three quarters of a mile were a challenge once we finally reached the mountain but the views were SUPER worth it at the peak. Beautiful Adirondack wilderness for miles.

This trail is just about 8 miles long from the trailhead to the summit. The view was nice but the rough terrain, narrow trail (constantly rubbing against brush), and sheer amount of bugs didn't make it worth it for me. Also the last .8 miles was the steepest I've ever done so I can't imagine why this trail is rated as 'easy'.

This is not an easy trail, unless you are just planning to go to the pond. The approach to the mountain is steep and rocky. My gps tracked the out and back to the mountaintop at 7.8 miles, not the 6.2 miles listed on this app. Nice views from the top, but there are numerous stream crossings so it can be more challenging after heavy rains.

Hiked this trail on March 23rd. Used snowshoes. We took a side trail to the Hooper mine to make it a loop. Beautiful views from the top. Great place for a picnic in the summer.

An absolutely gorgeous hike with a little bit of everything. The hike from Siamese ponds to the summit is certainly more difficult than "easy" but SO worth it. It also seemed like it was more than 6.2 miles. I would recommend this hike to anyone. it was a great day!

Awesome trail!! Not the best marked but the trail was very well worn. Only really confused at 1 spot. Awesome views along the way as well.

Also- we had a hard time finding the trailhead. Map it using the directions from this app and you should be good.

Great trail. Roundtrip to the pond is 6.6 miles. To summit would be between 7 and 8. Mileage in app is a little off. 13th lake is beautiful. All postcard shots. The hike to the pond is fairly easy. Nice views of other mountains along the way as well as the summit. Pond is very scenic. It poured when we got to the pond so we opted out of summit. Great view of summit from pond.

Beautiful hike! First you walk along thirteenth lake which is so serene and quiet. Many areas to stop and swim. Lake is so clear without much seaweed. Than you turn right and keep walking straight past a wooden bridge to your left and follow the stream to peaked pond, also another clear and private water area than you can swim at and dip feet. Than its a short fairly steep incline to top with 3 lookout points. Definitely great for kids but can be a fairly long walk to mountain. The best part was swimming in thirteenth lake at end.
