Good early morning climb before it gets hot. The view at the end is a great place for a snack.

Great trail right in Wilmington. If you want to get all the way to the top, it's actually 4 miles round trip. I recommend the full hike as you get better exercise and good views! The whole connection of trails is great for dogs.

My daughter (7) & I planned on just hiking Marble Mountain and scoping some of Lookout to prep for Whiteface later this year. We ended up getting up Lookout pretty quickly & decided to take a shot at Esther & succeeded. This was an awesome hike! The snow was packed down well & we had no issues. I thought the views were pretty nice! We're stoked to have unexpectedly been able to check this one off the bucketlist!

The toughest part of this hike is Marble Mountain. It's a straight shot up with no relief.

Awesome last weekend of October to hit both Whiteface and Esther. 7 hours RT to complete. Very muddy but well worth to complete this extra peak on the way back from Whiteface.

This is the best way to hike both Whiteface and Esther. The parking for the ASRC trailhead is on the side of the road as indicated by looking at the GPS track. No registry. The first part of the hike is incredibly steep but is only 0.9 miles to get to the summit of Marble Mountain compared to 2.2 miles if you were to hike from the Wilmington Reservoir. The rest of the hike is very pleasant. The best part is when you get to the road and climb the giant boulders and ridgeline to the summit as drivers curiously watch on. Summit is filled with tourists and can be very annoying.

Did this hike in conjunction with Whiteface mountain. Look at my review on whiteface for more of a writeup.

By the way, this mountain has views just not from the summit. Just look around as you climb up and there are several views to see.

An enjoyable day hike and great with our kids and dog. Got a little bit muddy between the peaks but there were logs to step on and we generally avoided getting too sloppy. Not much of a view from the top except of Whiteface at places. Contrary to much of what we read beforehand the trail was quite easy to follow, and well cared for, from beginning to end.

The trail begins by going up an old ski slope to the top of Marble Mountain. It branches off to the right just past the top of Marble Mountain and heads up to Lookout Mountain. After about a mile and a half there is a large cairn marking the separation of trails. Follow the sign at the cairn to the right and head to the top of Esther Mountain. The trails are marked in some areas but are very clearly defined. Great views of Whiteface Mountain along the way up.
