This was a great hike, a lot of awesome views with cool geologic features and scenic waterfall outlooks. We took this hike on a sunny chilly November day and the snow/ice wasn’t too bad. There were a lot of steps and the elevation clime was a great leg work out!’n The trail isn’t that wide and mostly only wide enough for one or two two people to walk safely.

Most excellent trail. I started at the bottom and hiked up. The upper part of the park is amazing and reminds me of Lord of the Rings scenery. I saw so many chipmunks and they were awesome trail friends.

several beautiful views of the waterfall and the creek that runs along the trail. moderate amount of traffic on a monday afternoon, not too bad. there is a nice park in between the two trails, good place to stop for lunch.

Incredible trail with a beautiful waterfall And amazing views of the gorge. The trail had cement and stone stairs and pathways throughout that enhanced the natural beauty. Highly recommend this trail.

Very quiet and simple hike, the trail was very shaded and well marked. Nice woods but mot much else to look at. Bug spray would be good but not completely necessary. The trail head is right where the GPS says it is, you can park just past it by the radio towers.

Really enjoyed checking this low traffic, moderate level hike out. Nice walk with the dog. Would recommend some bug spray before going. As others have said, park near towers and trailhead just down the road. Got off the trail a couple times, but we were able to reorient and find the orange markers pretty easily.

Wonderful place to get lost and secluded in the woods. Like others have stated, it’s hard to find the trial head/parking but I followed the directions of the other commenters and I found it (thank you!). Some parts are a bit overgrown so I definitely recommend long pants to avoid bug hitch hikers! Would love to come back in the fall. :)

Nice trail, but didn’t quite the super-high expectations I had. I’m probably just spoiled from hiking out west. I went just past the turnaround and found bathrooms and a pretty waterfall — I’d recommend that. A bathing suit also would’ve been a good idea. Lots of people wading in at various points, but there’s a really nice swimming area with a diving board and every right by the end. The end of the trail on the map is confusing. The trail ends and then I guess you’re just supposed to follow unmarked camp roads back. I just started heading toward my car and then got an alert that I was off the trail when I got close.

Little confusing as to where trail was. Follow GPS in app. Look for big rock memorial. See pic. Head toward river which is backwards from app elevations. Well blazed with white for first half. Then it switches to red and finally orange. Trail is on forest road for a bit right after it switches from white to red. Ends on road that continues up from the starting point. Nice hike, moderately difficult. Waterproof boots are a definite must. Streams, springs and seeps everywhere. Bug netting was helpful.

Amazing place!

If you climb the steep hill west of the Lucifer Falls overlook it takes you to the Finger Lakes Trail on which you can loop back to the Rim Trail and return to the Upper Treman trailhead. The FLT has a couple steep downgrades, but is a pleasant variation for the return leg to the parking lot from Lucifer Falls.

Hiked this trail on 3/9/19. Very well marked and easy to follow. A couple steep climbs, but overall agree with the difficulty level of moderate. The trail is very shady, which will be nice when we hike it again in the summer. My dogs loved this trail and ha does it without issue. Took us 2.5 hours to complete.

So much beauty in such a short hike!

Unexpectedly beautiful and unique. Well worth it

Absolutely beautiful trail tucked in middle of the city. Hard to find this much scenery in such a short trail.

Great trail for families. I'd hike it again!

The falls are magical and there’s great picture spots all along the way.

The trail was well marked. We weren't as observant as we should have been. Recording our hike on all trails saved us from going too far afield. I would recommend deet bug spray for mosquitoes and hitch hiking tics. Found one on my husband. Otherwise wonderful hike. Perfect for us. Would do it again.

This is a beautiful walk. The dogs had a great time too. Finding the trail head is difficult. It is before the towers. Also the trail is washed out big time in one area. New signage needs to go up. By the ravine it is a bit confusing but we finally found the orange and got back on track. A good walk, definitely a moderate + hike.

*PLEASE NOTE THE TRAIL CLOSURE SIGNS. IF THIS TRAIL IS CLOSED AND YOU TRESPASS, YOU WILL BE FINED* ...I learned that the hard way. Okay, so I made a huge mistake and ended up getting bucked off an open trail and onto a closed trail. Upon arrival, I noticed the Gorge Trail closure was clearly posted. So I took off on the Finger Lakes trail instead, hoping to catch some good Top-Down views of Lucifer falls. Well folks, I ended up missing a trail marker, headed off down a deer path and wound up on the Gorge Trail. I was stopped maybe an hour later by a state trooper who had been monitoring trail traffic. I received a citation and was escorted out of the park. Please keep an eye out for trail markers if you're here off season. I thought a citation was a little harsh especially as there were other hikers out on the Finger Lakes Trail and the Rim Trail. Since I wasn't from the local area, I had assumed since I saw other hikers that I was in fact, on the OPEN Finger Lakes trail. Unfortunately for me I must not have navigated a junction properly and it cost me. tl;dr - watch where you're going here. if the trail is closed, they do not post markers at every junction, but only at the trail heads. Enjoy the pictures I took though! They only cost me ~$500 in fines :)

Gorgeous views. Went after a couple days of straight rain so there was quite a bit of mud and you could see where the trail had turned into a stream during the rain. Read reviews online saying that the trail gets confusing.. couldn't figure out what they were talking about at first. Figured out why about a mile in. Trail does definitely get confusing. Still an awesome hike.

Nice trail, but a bit rough. Nice views of the falls. Worth the stop, if you are in the area.

Great trail and for this 53 year old I would rate it slightly above moderate. There were a couple of stream crossings I had to bushwhack around as they were too steep for me with my pack on with photo gear. I was confused on the direction of the trail so this might help others. Park by the towers and walk back down the road and take the FLT on the same side as the towers. Just a few hundred feet in turn left of the White blazes and take the Orange. Keep going until you see the mailbox and this is the loop junction. You can go straight or turn left and just follow the Orange blazes. Watch closely as a couple of spots the blazes are tricky to see. A great hike with a nice little stream at the low point. Ignore my time on my recording as I stopped and set up a tripod and took some pics. Also I walked off the trail a bit to take some shots so my distance might be a bit longer also.

Lovely loop. There was a creek crossing that was a bit steep and challenging with a child, but other than that, very family friendly.

This is a good ol' walk in the woods. I don't remember that it was difficult. The roads to the trailhead had deep ruts which made me glad I drove the Yukon. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and recommend this hike.

A nice walk through the woods. I saw a lot of chipmunks, even one of their nests.
