May be the best of the Adirondack fire towers. We did our hike in the winter, it was tough. Check out my full write up with pictures and things to look out for. eastcoasthiker.com/trails/adamsadk/

Great hike love it

Did Skylight and Gray on 5/24. Beautiful day. Snow above 3000 feet and spikes were needed. Warm day and snow was melting. You had be careful stepping on it. About 22 miles

Overall, great loop. It was definitely an adventure. The current conditions are iffy and exhausting. Expect to post hole if you head out to do this in the next few days. The trail is getting really sketchy. Honestly at this point I’d wait a week or two before trying for all three. We are strong hikers and this took us a total of 13 hours (including snack breaks etc) glad to have these completed! My favorite views we actually off Panther. I gave this 3 stars due to the challenging trail condition. Really a fun set of three peaks!

Hiked in from parking area. Bradley pond trail to Panther first. Trail after 2800 ft need spikes. Problem now all snow is melting and falling apart. Very dangerous, especially on the down. In a few weeks it should be perfect! Couch was good, bog about half way in need to navigate through to opposite side. Trail up to Santa was snowy and steep. Great hike. Took Santa express down, tough down due to all melt and snow. Crossing at junction with Panther trail water is over the knee and no way to go around. We went right through. At this point of the year plan to get wet feet. Overall great hike, trail is tricky to follow in spots for sure but great trail! Will be back when all the snow is gone!

Climbed Panther via Panther brook trail. Hike in to Bradley Pond was nice easy a little icy. Trail up to Herold Square was Snow rail walk needed spikes. Stream under cut trail, stream crossings dicy, post holing . Made it to Herold square with snow shoes. Top of Panther no snow. Left Santanoni for another day.

Not your granny’s 46er!! Sufferfest but completed in ~11 hour with less than an hour total of breaks. The ascent to the summit is NO JOKE... a nice long slippery flat stream bed to start and snow getting deeper and deeper as you get to the top. Last two miles of the trail is not easy to follow in these conditions!

No mud, trail was dry and frozen I enjoyed hiking cliff mountain! Yes, that’s what I said!

Nice hike that’s muddy in places but well placed rocks helped prevent us from getting are feet wet. Trail in well maintained and very easy to follow - we came down on the dark, with head lamps, with no problem. Fire tower is closed so view is limited from the top.

Great hike—there’s a sign for parking, easy trail to follow. Took about an hour on the way up. Fire tower is closed right now, but view was still nice!

Only hiked Panther, due to timing and difficulty with the trail.

Trail was dry for its .8 to observers cabin. Then began to get muddy. Adams trail was wet and muddy but not at all bad for this time of year. But after a mile or so began to get icy spots, Ice became more and more prevalent as you approach summit. A little soft snow at top but walkable, I would suggest micro spikes for top to summit definitely safer was super glad to have them coming back down. All in all a great hike on a bluebird day with my favorite hiking partner my wife
