I live around 4 blocks from the Highline. I love getting on it early in the morning before the crowds. You can catch some amazing sunrises also!

Surprising peaceful escape with hills and waterfalls. A Central Park hidden gem.

This looks like the horse trail that starts parallel to the reservoir. If it is then its flat loose gravel and NO BIKE RIDING IS ALLOWED.

The highline is an amazing walk and moreover if you need to commute between the ends it offers an opportunity to escape the crazy streets for a while. The concessions are always cool small businesses that deserve the support. It's clean and a great summer activity. In the off months it's still nice just a bit windier.

Update: dogs are not allowed on the highline. Don't bring them

nice easy walk. hangout spot as well. some art to check out too.

A nice urban hike. This is a repurposed, elevated freight train bridge that used to run on the west side of Manhattan. Offers nice views of the Hudson River and the New York skyline. Lined with trees and vegetation. It can get crowded on weekends.

Great area to walk and enjoy the sights of the City.
