this is one of my favorite places to go in NYC. it gets really crowded, though, so push to go early early or during a light rain or something.

I run Central Park really often, doing the different loops. highly recommended, although there are quite a lot of people on the south end.

this is part of the West Side Greenway and we run it at least once a week. really great section with some Rock art, bathrooms and water at 145th, and access points at 181,168 (sort of), 155, 145, and 125 streets. it's right along the Hudson and features The Little Red Lighthouse just inder the George Washington Bridge.

Nice loop around Prospect Park, fully paved the whole way. Pedestrian walkway on the left, bikes down the middle. Good views of the lawns, with tons of BBQs and picnickers on an early summer day. You'll also pass by the lake about half way through. Last half mile or so is a gentle little climb. Worth checking out Grand Army Plaza and the beautiful Bailey Fountain, which are adjacent to the park.

Pretty cool space. I love that this area could be turned into some kind of open space above street level. Busy and popular!

Walked from one side to the other and back. An iconic structure. Would have been nice if the walking/biking surface was a tad wider. I imagine it gets cramped when it's a nice weekend morning.

The hill definitely offers a challenge but it sure is fun going back down on your bike.

Very easy path to follow with plenty of places to stop, sit and enjoy. Now that the weather is warming up there are plenty of people on the High Line, and when we walked the High Line the crowd was huge, yet the noise was minimal. There are also a handful of food/drink stations along the way as well as a couple of gift shop kiosks and a few street vendors. I suggest you take your time, enjoy the quietness and beautiful landscape.

This is an incredible park! You can keep to main roads or go off the main tracks though more dense trees and it gets seriously beautiful and wild!! Totally unexpected but this might be my favourite park in New York. Saw lots of bird life and animals going about their day which added to the magic.

We actually did the whole loop and it eventually took 4 hours and about 6 miles. Wonderful. Pick up a map at Columbus Circle for $2 to keep track of the different sights. The lady also gave us good info such as the waterfalls in the northeast corner. Have a bite at the boathouse. Take water bottle and you can fill up. A must do if you are in NY.

It’s cool because it’s unique - you’re above the city! That said it’s also usually very crowded and not super green or spacious - it’s pretty narrow. Has some cool sunbathing chaise-lounges that you can chill in on the way, plus a lot of cool sculptures! ☺️

Beautiful! Crowded but a large, well-kept Park with lakes, flowers, rocks, trees, botanical garden, fort, and zoo!

Simple, straightforward, long, and straight pavement trail ideal for a mindless walk/jog/bike ride. Gives you some elevation and though seems easy, it is a pretty decent workout. Does feel a little longer than it is, probably due to it being long, straight, and out&back.

I completed this trail about 5 times with my dog, and my dog had a tick the 5th time. FYI.

Very easy, but nice views of the park

The Loop is back! The breach has been repaired. Go here periodically for a quick get away, nice hike with many options for a short to long walk

Cute short little trail above all of the madness below. Nice views! Beautifully landscaped.

Enjoy!

Especially nice during spring and fall.

Great for bird watching.

Kinda hard to navigate I kept ending up on the road running path

Simply for the historic value... 25 yrs ago during a heat wave in the beginning of April. Two days later the heaviest snow storm of the year...

Excellent, easy, fairly long walk or jog. Beautiful and quiet . NYC did a great job of creating a place for everyone to enjoy.

Walked it in the winter, when crowds were light. Can only imagine how crowded it gets in good weather. Nice way to get down to the Meatpacking District from the West Side. Tons of construction along the first part of the walk.

Beautiful, fun, great people-watching. Hill is challenging for running or cycling.

A great walk

Very easy four and a half miles...give or take. There wasn't a lot of wildlife this go around. I'll have to go back later in the spring. With the government shutdown... the visitor's center was not open, which is always a shame. Children in Congress making decisions that have impacts that are far reaching. Regardless. It's only about an hour or so train ride from mid-town (A train). so you can leave at 9am and be on the trail before 11. It's close enough that after the hike, you can take the shuttle train to Rockaway and enjoy some beach time.

Very cold this morning, but the hike was great. Lots of dogs out enjoying the snow. The start/finish is at the Museum of Natural History...so you can make a day of it by also exploring the museum before or after the hike.
