Explore the most popular Paved trails near New York City with hand-curated trail maps and driving directions as well as detailed reviews and photos from hikers, campers and nature lovers like you.

This is a paved park pathway, not a hiking trail. Why is it on AllTrails? It’s a gorgeous park. The prettiest in NYC if you ask me, but it’s not a hiking trail. It’s a city park.

Coastguard housing makes this a bit tricky. Forts and views are great though.

Good view of Manhattan and the bridge. Some old fort buildings and cannons.

We walked the red trail with our class. The overlook was very nice. Very easy hike for beginners. Took about an hour. Trail markers, so our kids could practice. Next time we will do the blue trail.

Beautiful and clean. Pristinely paved track with clear signage indicating the directions and lane assignments for walkers/runners and bikers.

Nice enough walk, paved. But it is still an active coast guard base, the map provided is not an accurate map for public use. If you know the area it’s easy to navigate around the government property. If you don’t know the area, visit the visitor center at New York ave and Marshall rd first. There’s a good parking lot there as well.

we run this trail three times a week, but out to go by the salt Marsh rather than up the hill. such a fun run!

Stunning views of the Verrazano Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island and the NYC skyline. It’s challenging if you make it. Otherwise it can just be relaxing. Check out the 69th St Pier, Verrazano gardens, ball fields, Shore Rd Park and my fave..Owls Head Park. There are free movies on the green in the summer months. Or take the ferry to a trendy Bklyn neighborhood or NYC!

This is an incredible park! You can keep to main roads or go off the main tracks though more dense trees and it gets seriously beautiful and wild!! Totally unexpected but this might be my favourite park in New York. Saw lots of bird life and animals going about their day which added to the magic.

The map on the app isn't accurate. There is alot of small side trails that branch off the bigger ones. It is small enough though that you wont get lost.
