Absolutely love the trails at Mohonk Mountain House! Has great trails for easy walking, and tons of strenuous almost rock climbing paths. The also have a labyrinth path, which is absolutely awesome, with wooded ladders and crevasses you have to crawl through. Absolutely love coming to this place for a weekend every year!

Great hike! The trip out on Overlook carriage road is easily managed and wide. Good views along the way. The Old Minnewaska trail is smaller foot path, beautiful forest scenery. Our mistake not needing the signs: took a stroller on Old Minnewaska, don't do that... The signs were not kidding: foot path only. Beautiful hike and kid friendly but wear long pants, can be slightly overgrown. Last leg 0.5 mi on red trail Shongum can be moderately difficult, with some scrambling over rocks, walking on planks over muddy areas. If that happens and some of your party doesn't want to continue that last 0.5 mi, you can send someone back to the parking lot at West Trapps and drive to Coxing to pick everyone else up

5 of us did the rock scramble and then over to Table Rock, had a blast, well marked and it happened to be a beautiful day. My boyfriend even asked me to Marry him that day at Table Rock!!!! :) Oh and I said Yes!!!!

Great to see the bald eagle soaring above the lake.

$21 per person to park!!

This is a nice trail with great views all around

Nice trail you can pick up the pace on if you choose... marked well... super view from the rocks

Loved it, some parts a bit bumpy, still a great ride
Bridge over the Wallkill River is closed for repairs, will have to make a trip back:)

I went up the opposite direction and it wasn't too bad of a climb. The overcliff trail was mostly human made paths but the rest of it was though. I did this in about 2hrs and 30 minutes.

Great stretch of trails perfect for gravel grinding. Bring hiking boots there's plenty to explore off the trails.

Started at trestle at Rosedale and headed south. Very nice flat walk although a bit buggy. Beautiful relaxing walk.

One of the things that truly makes New Paltz special. A must experience for any visitor!

Beautiful and scenic hike during the fall months. A must !!

I did a 22 mile round trip from New Paltz to north of Rosendale. Nice flat ride but one bridge was blocked and parts were muddy. The best part was the Rosendale trestle which has nice views.

Very easy trail. I ended up going on the weekend and it was ~$30/person to go hike! But it was worth it since I rarely go up to these parts. There are a couple trails in this area, so it's hard to tell where you are some times. But all trials either lead to the top where that tower is or the bottom, where the lake is. Basically the short cuts are difficult, and straight up the mountain, but you can take the easy long way. You could probably take a motorized wheelchair up those easy paths if it had some tread. I would only go here if you had family from out of town. There are bathrooms, and a hotel and benches, so everyone can participate. If it were just me on a regular weekend, I wouldn't spend that kind of money.

Very nice for a walk and amazing rock climbs!

A great easy hike! We took about 3 hours doing the entire loop- took a lot of time on Undercliff taking pics. Our dogs also loved the hike (which is actually a flat walk.) We saw a couple families so kids can definitely handle the hike, although the entire 5 mile loop might be a bit long- we were pretty worn out by the end! It cost $12 per person to go in btw.

Really nice trail!!

Very easy, leisurely stroll suitable for all levels. Amazing views in all directions, including the skytop cliff, (which, if you get a chance, definitely go check out!!), the Catskills and the Gunks, as well as hints at the ADKs in the background. Views of the old hotel are also stellar. Mohonk is truly a hiker/climber's paradise.

Absolutely beautiful, and fun ride! It was fun watching people rock climb. Also it is a nice ride if it's super hot and sunny since its shaded for the most part. Everyone we ran into, whether hiking, climbing, biking etc seemed to be enjoying themselves.

love the lemon squeeze up the summit! Fun rock scramble.

Great

If you don't want to pay $20 plus to park on Mohonk Mountain House grounds, there is a cheaper alternative. Pay $12 at Mohonk Preserve's West Trapps parking lot on 44/55. Then pedal down the Overcliff Carriageway. At the end turn right and go a short distance hip Laurel Road and then climb upGiant's Path. At the top turn right and go up Humpty Dumpty Road and turn left on Woodland road and then climb up Eagle Cliff Ascent. These two rock climbs plus they great views of Skytop Tower and Mohonk Lake and the mountain house made it well worth it.
