Great Hike. Enjoyed our time

Did the Yellow trail. I need to find a good map of Bear Swamp. The one I have doesn’t show all the trails and at places confusing. But it was a beautiful trail w lots of yellow color. Nice easy trail. Found the old cemetery which someone is tending dates back to 1850’s. Including a soldier from the Civil War.

Very beautiful trail (Gorge Trail) that winds up the gorge to a small damn. The last part of the trail past Bridge 7 is the exceptional part of the trail, while the part before that is a good hike along the creek. When the water is up, this must be a phenomenal place. The Cow Shed at the beginning of the trail head in the park is beautiful as well. Great waterfall with an impressive overhang that makes for a spectacular picture. Took the South Rim trail back, hiked 3.44 miles in total. Stopped for lunch at Pinnacle Lookout...go around the stone wall to sit on the pinnacle it’s self, and you can hear the falls all around you as you enjoy lunch. Nothing strenuous, family friendly, and lots to see. Great hike!

Trail entrance is directly behind the sign on 38. There were signs up warning of poison ivy. The trail I found was good initially, but only appeared to go one direction, instead of the two that appear on the map. It narrowed significantly and appears not well traveled at all. Dog found the swamp water irresistible and jumped from a small bridge into it. Also chased while leashed after many small unseen critters near the path. Dog would rank it much higher than I would. Area is very pretty and has a lot of promise, but I just didn’t feel comfortable on the hike.

lower, gorge trail had a section closed, so we went on the north rim trail and didn't get very good views of the water. trail is well maintained.

We couldn’t complete the loop because they were working on a bridge, despite that we had a great hike, beautiful trail.

The trail was a little bit muddy at point but it did rain the night before. It was beautiful and I recommend this trail to anyone. When I went however a section of the trail was blocked off (between bridges 7 and 8) so we had to turn around and walk back.

Did this hike with my two children, and ate lunch in the pavilion afterwards. Was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with my little family. The park is currently doing some construction and repairs at certain parts, so be aware that you may not be able to access parts a trail or two.

Doing repair work on the upper bridge so unfortunately couldn’t go all the way up to the top. But the part we did was really beautiful.

I actually did this almost a year ago and forgot to rate! We hiked it in the light rain with 2 dogs. Stairs were very slippery but this is a great trail!

I want to walk this trail, does anybody know why the gorge trail is closed and when it will open? I don't want to waste my time coming from an hour and a half away.

This trail is closed; posted "No trespassing including creek" signs at all access points in cemetery. The area surrounding the stream bed is most likely under new ownership or the owners became irritated by hikers in what they consider their stream.
