This trail was a nice quaint walk. I enjoyed this trail with my family and we think it’s a good trail for young families and introducing hiking to young ones. Be sure to pick up the pamphlet at the beginning of the hike and read the information that corresponds to the number on the marker as you make your way through the trail. Walking in the sand was a little challenging but it was only about a mile.

If you enjoy hiking near the beach, then this is the trail for you. It can get muddy quickly, but the views overlooking the Atlantic Ocean are as good as it gets. It's only about a 10 minute hike until you get to the bluffs overlooking the water and then it's really up to you how far you want to go. I suggest taking the Roosevelt Run for the best scenic views!

This is same as Mountak Point Park Trail, no different.

Easy beach side walk. Beautiful beach view.

i LOVE harbor seals

i love sitting on the boulders and just feeling the ocean's breath. it's really something.

did this by accident lmao

gorgeous

It was ok at best but the seal watching part was very cool

Ok, but not the prettiest walk - a bit melancholy

Great coastal & beach walk with beautiful views

The beach part was a lot of fun and the water was the perfect temp that day but the overlooks were really awesome and the abandoned military bunkers are a plus!!!

Nice place.

Awesome views.

Great place for a easy hike (Id consider it more a walk). Fairly well maintained trails, not much elevation change, and great views out to the ocean. Overlooks ditch plains. There are also 2 old bunker installations along the trails. Just be careful by the bluffs, they are severely eroding.

Beautiful views, fascinating area to walk through. Amazing way to see the north side of Montauk .We brought our 8 mo old puppy in early Nov and she loved it. Very easy walk in sand 95% of the time, so you could do it in flip flops. Great time, not hard, fun. There is some short elevation up and down through sand. Highly recommended for kids, dogs, and photos. Looked like parking for only 4-6 cars. (I went in off season, so there may be more parking along the road in season, not sure)
We loved it and only passed one other small group. It took us 1hr.

I hiked this trail in late October. It wasn't busy at all. There are cool bunker to look at. And when the trail opens up to the ocean it is just so pretty. The views were great.

Very easy trail that leads to stunning ocean views. I was there in the middle of the day at the height of tourist season and had whole chunks of the trail and overlooks to myself. Loved the tranquility and escape from the crowds.

This trail is a beautiful trail. It goes through a gorgeous forests with many small trees. Eventually, you end up on the edge of unbelievably beautiful cliffs which drop straight into the ocean. It's definitely one I would do many more times

The sound of the surf while hiking is a totally different experience. Loved the cliffs and the bunkers, too.

Soft trail

Decent trails, nice in the winter since you will have the trails for yourself. Park in the lighthouse parking area (free in the off season) then walk weston the main road until you see a sign for money pond trail. The trail is a tight single lane, watch out for ticks in high season. Take that trail (green blazes, poorly marked, but fairly easy to distinguish the trail) to seal haulout trail (yellow blazes). Take seal hallout to the coast for a chance to see seals in the winter on the rocks. Walk the off road vehicle trail (res blazes) or the coast back to the lighthouse. Complete circuit took about one and a half hours.

Coming east make a left at the tennis look for trail on right. Park on the road. Trail climbs up into woods and dunes. All of the trails in Hither Woods can be ridden in some kind of loop this system can take you all the way to Fort Pond Bay.
