Is this trail open for hiking now? March 2018?

Love the view and the easy to walk around

Hiked to the overview with my son yesterday it was a good hike .
Enjoyed the snowman. Trying to get in shape to go up Marcy this summer this hike seemed to be a good start. Enjoyed it.

Nice little walk between the river and a canal. It was a little too suburban for me but I liked the dam at the beginning.

Busy streets on both ends. Not sure why when you are next to the parkway there isn’t a barricade. That being said, when you’re not by the busy streets, it’s actually peaceful.

Road to and parking lot are plowed. Trail is nicely packed, fire tower is in good condition and the views were spectacular! Enjoy!

Fairly easy trail with a nice view of the bridge.

Parts need trail maintenance after winter storms but overall a quiet, pleasant walk. Full perimeter is supposedly 6 miles. Humorous and informative signage abounds. Don’t go if you want sweeping vistas. A good place to clear one’s head.

Closed for hiking, skiing only.

Started from northern parking lot on Rt.118, which added the nice view from the bridge over the reservoir. Then took white >> red >> yellow >> blue loops and back on white. Enjoyed the sun and snow-patched wood. Met only few other hikers, no dogs. Liked the bit of variety through some open spaces and views of the water.

Perfect for walking/running with your pup or peaceful enough by yourself. There is several places with broken glass but overall perfect for what we were looking for.

Easy walk to the fire tower and amazing views from the top.

Wonderful trail system, peaceful and beautiful, lots of wildlife to watch and photograph

Kinda hard to navigate I kept ending up on the road running path

some of the nicest trails I've ever been on in the area!!!

Beautiful hike today in the snow. The waterfall was maybe even more spectacular than the last time I came in the middle of summer. Icicles and snow really added to the beauty. The trail was definitely slick (more packed snow than ice); spikes or poles would be a good choice.

Easy hike up to the Cornish Estate ruins on an old paved road. Perfect family hike or a quick dog walk. Ruins are fascinating...tried to imagine what it was like in the 1920's

It was great hiking on snowy trails and very beautiful view along the trail and on the top from which you can see high peak regions and snow lakes.

Dogs are not allowed

Beautiful hike. Snow covered but great with yaktraks.

Easy walk, unfortunately park Pitch Pines devastated by bark beetles. North side of Veterans Highway offers nicer trails including a section of Greenbelt that is nicely laid out up to Lakeland County Park. Lots of ticks in warmer weather, treated clothing and gaiters recommended.

I climbed this trail with my bro, both equipped with snowshoes! In winter, this trail is beautiful! We took some amazing pictures! The view from the fire tower is phenomenal! It was really cold and windy up there, but it is so worth it!

We XC skied on little snow 3/9 but still had fun. The trails are groomed for XC so you have to wait until conditions are good and then follow the groomer. Check Facebook’s Shenendehowa Nordic Club for ski trail updates

Great view from the tower and a nice little cabin at the top to read up on its history! Just a few days after the storm (3-11-18 hiked) so snowshoes were a must. First time snowshoeing and I’m glad it was done on Goodnow! A couple little icy streams along the way. There was another cabin of sorts about 3/4 of the way at the top but it appeared to have mostly collapsed under the weight of recently accumulated snow.

Probably took about 3x as long as it would have, as I was breaking the trail in snowshoes. Worthwhile to be up there in the snow. I think it took an hour and a half at most. Took my time at summit. Highly recommend.

Stairs going up for the greedy people I guess

Nice lake in tarrytown to chill out in.

Great views of the Catskills. Breathtaking lake only 90 miles from the busiest city in the world. Great escape, highly recommend
