The views are spectacular especially when you get into the Mohonk region. Get there early even in mid week. First half and last half of the hike is Disneyland!!! Rude and loud People everywhere.

Great hike! Gets your heart rate up but not challenging. Lovely waterfall.

Panoramic views of the lake and a lot of hidden gems on this trail!

Beautiful lake in every season, easy trail.

Very nice and calming trail. Extremely easy. This isn’t the place for you if you’re looking for a challenge.

Included a walk around Lake Awosting making this about a 10 mile hike. If you want to do this, I'd go the following order: Mossy Glen to Blueberry Run (right) to Lower Awosting to Awosting Lake to Upper Awosting to Rainbox Falls back to Lower Awosting. Mossy Glen is a nice footpath along Peters Kill (4 stars). Blueberry Run (on this walk I took a left to Upper Awosting) is a short but steep footpath to Lower Awosting. Lower Awosting was a nice change of pace leading up to Rainbow Falls. The Rainbow Falls footpath is the highlight here. The falls themselves were the perfect flow to stand underneath to cool down, but the trail itself was the best part. It has lots of interesting little scrambles. I even had to lift the dog a couple times. Lake Awosting was pristine and very remote (on a busy day I only ran into a handful of people). There's a couple spots where you can walk right in. Going around the lake added about 4 hours (and maybe 1.5 hours) to the hike. Walking back on Lower Awosting was a bit of a bore. I don't love wearing headphones during nature walks, but was thankful to have them here. Overall I really enjoyed this hike. I was proud of the dog for making it the whole way.

Got here at 8:30 on a Tuesday, we were the first car to arrive, weren’t allowed in until 9. Parked at Upper lake parking lot to get on the trail for gertrudes nose. Some construction going on so took a while to park but go on the trail by 9:30. Went counter clockwise on trail. Beautiful vistas, some nice rocky scrambles but easy trail. Not too crowded. Not a lot of shade on the mountain ridge, bring sunblock! Trail feels a bit manicured with its carriage roads, but you can’t beat the views!

Geat trail leading to a beautiful set of waterfalls. There are two parking lots. the trail is not marked that well but at the entrance is a yellow marker. Its also important to note that the trail is very muddy and rocky in several spots.

Awesome trail!!! Scenic and beautiful!

beautiful as always!

Beautiful trail! It took about 3 hours to complete, which included a 1/2 hour stop at the waterfall. For the loop, I would recommend taking the Lower Awosting (LA) Carriage Road out from the parking lot to the Rainbow Falls trail. The Rainbow Falls trail starts right after the LA Carriage Road crosses the brook (there's no sign, but there's three orange markers to the left of the trail at this point). After the water fall, we then took the Upper Awosting (UA) Carriage Road, to Blueberry run, and then the Mossy Glen trail back to the parking lot.

Enjoyable walk when you have an hour or so to kill. Wet and a little muddy in spots, but otherwise dry. Crowded, and due to narrow parts of the trail bring a mask.
