It's a beautiful, large waterfall, but it's more of a walk-up than a hike.

Great hike with tons of shade and spectacular falls and vistas.

Gorge trail still closed, but you can walk a little way up Gorge from Old Mill parking
Impressive what water can cut through
Took Rim trail up to Lucifer Falls and down all those steps to bottom of falls. Unless you plan on wading out to bottom of falls, stay on top and enjoy view of the entire falls
Trillium ( mainly white with a few purple) and Jack in the Pulpit along trail

amazing views, great hike, worth the visit!

Really wonderful trail, it’s a bit intense if you aren’t used to climbing stairs. The gorge trail was closed when we went, but the rim trail was great and I think the other trail looked just as good if not better.

Is this trail marked by blue blazes the entire way or where to the blazes end?

Wouldn’t consider this a hike. Saw a lot of people fishing and a couple love birds enjoying the falls.

The gorge side is still closed. But out and back on the rim side is great too, so it’s a 4.5-5 mike out and back.

A little challenging workout on the way out. The first mile is uphill. Lots of roots and some loose rock but footing is fine. Several sections have steep steps.

A little busy today but clean, dry trails. Great views. Could easily get off the trail to make the hike and views more interesting.

Looking forward to trying the gorge side.

Was able to do half of the Loop.. Rim trail to the big water fall roughly 4 miles up and back. (Main parking lot to top lot and back).
Gorge Trail is still closed due to trees on most of the trail on that side.
A long steady uphill climb to the Big Falls...a great hike/workout...you can get to the stream if you need water with filter..good clear trail on Rim side. Great views..will be back to do the loop when open...

A great hike that rewards you with an area to swim that is more secluded than most other hikes in this area.

Was on my NY trail “bucket list” for awhile, went today and loved it.

Walked this Trail a lot to the halfway point. Last Tuesday 4/24/2018 I walked the whole trail. Saw a couple of bikers and some walkers on the Cass Park side and some runners at Stewart Park. All in all it’s a quiet, pretty stretch to get some exercise and take in the outdoors!

Nice park, the parking fee is $8.00 and both the rim and gorge trail lead to Lucifer falls. If you choose to climb the 222 steps to the overlook of Lucifer falls enjoy the view! Been coming here since I was a kid!

I hiked Cascadilla Falls after three days of heavy rain and the water was nearly overflowing its banks. Despite the heavy flow of water and the raging torrent, the trail felt sturdy and safe.

This is a great trail and a "must visit" for those exploring Cayuga waterfalls.

This is a very popular and scenic falls with a large swimming area at the base of the falls.

Potter's falls does exist and is well worth the trek! The trail is well-marked with blue blazes. Start at the small parking lot at the head of the trail off Giles St and walk towards Second Dam. Keep going past the memorial to Eric. Eventually you will come to a steep incline to your left as described below, but the trail does continue east at the top of the ridge. Stick to the main trail (don't follow any of the narrower trails towards the water), and eventually it will terminate at Potter's Falls. There's great views of the falls from the trail, and you can walk down to a gravelly beach if you want to sit and enjoy nature.

Flat gravel walking/running and biking trail that is quite busy. I walk the dogs and they enjoy it, not much to view but a nice walk nonetheless

This trail is deceiving. The rim trail with the steps is more difficult than expected. Be careful of the terrain, it has a lot of roots and loose gravel

This is one of my favorite gorges to hike. The only downside (as someone who likes hiking in peace) is that this location is a popular family spot in the summer time. It's absolutely gorgeous though!

beautiful trail. the rim trail was only open in the spring , due to ice, but nice hike

The gorge trail is closed for the winter months.

Beautiful falls, all the hikers we encountered were very friendly!

Pretty muddy this time of year, there were times it felt more like a swim than a hike! But that just added to the adventure of this otherwise moderate hike. Nice view of Fall Creek at some spots. Avoid the edge when up on the ridge--saw a tree fall off the hillside which illustrates the erosion that is continually happening there.

If you start at the opposite end from Buttermilk, the trail is gorgeous and there are very few people.
