A nice short hike to a beautiful open overlook of Eagle Bay, and surrounding mountains and lakes. A nice hike for the whole family.

Did this Mtn trail a few months ago with my girlfriend. It was a nice relatively easy hike until the last section. Great views from the summit!!! Did this hike also with a friend in the winter and it was okay.

This is a great short trail for such an awesome view! Definitely wear hiking shoes as there’s lots of mud and roots. The way down was actually harder than the way up, due to the steepness. Busy at the top due to fall foliage but everyone was so nice and taking pictures for each other.

I took the blue trail up. Starts off relatively flat and easy. Becomes steep with many scrambles towards the top. The summit has several spots for some great views. This was a nice pleasant walk through the woods with a good moderately challenging climb, depending on your skill level. Some may find the blue trail more difficult. I took the yellow trail down which saved my knees. It adds some distance to the way back but it was nice. There is a small area with a creek closer to the lot. I would do this again.

Short hike but will def be a small workout. There are a ton of roots on the trail- absolutely need proper footwear and to pay attention. The incline can be quite steep and the rocks can be slippery. I watched several people almost slip.

Trail etiquette doesn’t seem to be a thing here. Some kid was smoking a cigarette on the trail. Um hello, did you miss the Smokey the bear lesson in school? You can’t wait til you at least get back to the car?

The view from the top is nice, but there are many better hikes in the adks. I wouldn’t do this again.

Long walk through the woods , not much for views until the peak

Great views over looking 4th lake, Inlet / Eagle Bay Area. About a 20 min steady climb/ hike to the top.

Moderate trail with a fantastic view from peak. Trail not clearly marked and appears heavily used. Many different switchbacks from people cutting their own trail. . Well worth it but may be tricky when wet.

Beautiful easy hike

Fat guy approved (I can say that because I'm the fat guy).
Decent hike. Views are worth the effort.

An easier ascent than Bald Mountain. Great views.

the trail is pretty steep but short and probably one of the best low effort high reward hikes I've done. hung around on top till sunset!

Great hike from 8th Lake Campground via Bug Lake to Uncas Trail. beautiful along the lake. 8 miles. Easy to moderate hike depending on skill level. Took us 4.5 hours total with 30 minute break at the top. Walked average pace of 2.5 mph.

awesome vie s great trail for all, blue is a little more advanced.

Nice trail although heavily used. North side of the loop had some fairly steep section near the top. took some rock scrambling to climb these sections.

Heavily worn trial but not much traffic when I hiked it earlier today.

Nice hike with a great view. Yellow trail is easier for those looking for an easier ascent, but those looking for a bit more of a challenge should ascent using blue trail as it has some steeper rocks. I wouldn't suggest going down blue trail but its doable.

Beautiful hike! We took the yellow trail up but starting from the Uncas Rd trailhead. That is not mapped here but is shown on the trail brochure that you can get from the Inlet information center. The summit has amazing views especially north to the high peaks region. We followed the loop and took the blue trail down until we merged back to the yellow trail and finished the loop back to Uncas Rd. We didn’t record it but I believe this adds some distance to the hike. The lower loop back to Uncas is peaceful with hardly any other hiking traffic. Bring lots of water and wear good shoes. This was our favorite hike of our trip!

Great trail. Short, a bit steep at times but I my 3yo did it while holding my hand. Can get pretty slick in the rain. Go early to beat the crowds but there is actually plenty of room on the trail.

This was our sons first mountain hike and he loved it. We did the blue trail up which worked out well for him as he LOVED the rocks and the climbing. From the summit we took the yellow trail down which lead to a much more secluded and peaceful hike down. We only passed a few couples hiking up. My husband and I enjoyed the ease of the climb and our son did well with the trails. Make sure you bring water and wear the appropriate footwear!

One of our favorite hikes near Old Forge. Once you hit the peak, with the view of the Lake on your right, keep walking forward through the trees. The view on the northern side of the peak is unreal.

Took the blue trail up and yellow down. Beautiful family time

Agree with everyone else pretty much, hiked in the rain so glad we went yellow up. Never did find the survey marker :(

The loop has two well marked trials. The yellow trail is mostly flat until you arrive at the base of the mountain, and then it’s a short but steep climb to the summit. The first open area has some nice views, but the summit is further up he trail. The views are wonderful, and there is plenty of space to sit and relax. We took the blue trail down, which would be the more challenging trail to hike up. The way down is fun, but challenging in a few places. Overall a great hike.

Walked this today (Yellow Trail). It was good

This is one of those bast bang for your buck kinda hikes. Unfortunately the trail is not maintained and people looking for alternative routes around the scrambles have really done great damage to the area. The trail has now become too wide. they should increase the trail markers to make people aware where the trail is as well as delineate the alternative route around the scrambles so there are not more than one. other than that, the views of Fourth Lake are awesome!

had to give it 5 stars. it was the 2017 solar eclipse so my son and i hiked this very short trail and very steep. for any photographers you should consider this mountain, it may have heavy traffic of people but wow the view is amazing.

Great short hike! Perfect for little ones. Hiked with 6 kids, ages ranging from 7yr to 5mo.

Short, rugged hike with a spectacular view of fourth lake

One of my favorite hikes. It's usually holds water at the earlier stages of the trail, but dries up later on. It's a good hike to start the season, with mostly easy hiking and small sections of boulders, but nothing too demanding. Something I've never seen mentioned though, is the waterfall. There's a stream that runs along the left side of the trail on the way in. Some distance past the fork is a small waterfall. It's a nice little detour to ad another experience to an already wonderful hike.
