Good, fun easy

Awesome trail for families. So beautiful in October. Definitely coming back next year.

BUGGY. I got here around 6pm to do a little walk running. I did more running than I thought I could because of the bugs. This is such a beautiful trail with a tree canopy and water features. I couldn’t really enjoy them today because of the bugs. Next time I’m wearing big spray. The whole time I was here I saw a couple with a beautiful dog, a runner and a mountain biker.

An easy and short stroll through the FDR estate to the Hyde Park Train Museum. Lovely forest views, the cleanest trails, well marked, and okay for dogs on leashes. Definitely check out the museum! Fascinating history and fun educational activities in the small building. Continue from there to the gorgeous views at Vanderbilt. Listen to history by finding the little audio posts (scan QR Code or call the number). I didn’t go as far as Bard Rock in awhile, but the views are worth it. great walk for all ages. Bathrooms available at the parks and museums along the way. Bring enough water/electrolytes and/or food to picnic for those that like to mosey slow and absorb the surroundings. Also, record your hike and earn park badges: http://www.hydeparkny.us/Recreation/Trails/WalkaboutTrails.pdf

Easy trail with lovely woodland views. Great for a beer hike with bars on one end and Hyde Park Brewing Company on the other. Honestly, I don’t drink and I think this should be a thing just for the easy stroll and to benefit local business. I’ve been here a number of times before and after the reconstruction of trails. No matter when I go, there is almost no one else on the trail (maybe 2) or at least no one else parked at the lot. WEAR BUG SPRAY. This trail goes through a swamp. You are guaranteed to get bit.

A nice afternoon. Lots of people up by the mansion but fewer as you take the trail down to the river. A great place to watch the sunset! The mansion is also cool and has a lovely garden.

Quite a nice walk. Gets very busy on the weekends (with nice weather). I usually go on weekdays to avoid the crowds.

Nice trail in the woods and by the Hudson. Headed from FDR museum to Vanderbilt where the last mile, though, was just a paved asphalt road. The whole path is good even for strollers.

I'm not sure if my run was the Vanderbilt trail, but I think it was. The run was easy and relatively quiet. I left from the Roosevelt property and followed the trail down to the water, and then headed north to the VM. I enjoyed the run. If you are looking for something challenging this is not it, but if you want a quiet trail with rolling hills try this one.
