East Nassau, New York Map

Beautiful, singletrack, fun trails that take to through a mix of dense old forests and historic homesteads. Great place for an after work run.

Note that the main trail along the stream has yellow markers, not red as shown on the map. Also the ridge cutoff has red markers, not yellow. The Polypody Fern trail is aptly named.

Very nice area; on the new Blue trail there is a solid up/down section (Note: the Blue trail is NOT on the map online or at the kiosk, but it is complete and fully blazed with markers. There are multiple loops here and it is easy to traverse the entire preserve. While "kid-friendly" I wouldn't bring a toddler here, as there are some areas that are rocky and rooted.

Beautiful location; I will definitely return here with my seven children in the future ... good for exercise or just walking around. Definitely can expand the trail system very easily. Lots to explore. Great job Rensselaer Plateau Alliance.
