this trail is one of my favorites. it offers a great mix of water, woods, and sun, and it just difficult enough to make it a great hike. I would not, however, recommend it for a beginner.

this trail is definitely not for weekend warriors. the lake Bonita trail is a very nice hike, however, and one of my go-to activities.

I would not recommend this trail for a beginner, but one of my favorites.

Beautiful place.

Nice easy layout. You can access other trail systems and loop out and make it a longer hike. Well marked.

What a disappointment. There really isn’t a trail here and if there ever was one is not being maintained at all. We were however surprised to find a small but nice sandy beach here. We were looking for a hike though so we left to a legitimate trail and then go to another beach. I don’t think this place should even be listed in #AllTrails. The map was traced by walking on the road so be aware of that. I am not rating the place as a campground or beach, it is extremely disappointing as a hiking trail though. That’s all I can speak of.

A nice trail. The hike was easy and fun. Just being able to sit by the water was so relaxing. Next time I think I will try some fishing.

Awesome little loop to do if you want to do a short quick hike. Takes about 40 minutes if you stop a few times to enjoy the views!

Fun little hike on the Nature Trail. The best part is obviously near the big Fourth Lake, it's beautiful. The trail needs a little TLC and upkeep, but it was still passable. Bring your bug spray, you'll need it. The campground is really beautiful and I will consider it for a weekend getaway instead of just a day trip. You can also rent canoes there in the summer.

We were looking for a good 7-8 mile hike with some elevation gain. The Moreau Lake State Park trail system is perfect for making your own loops, which you can change en route according to weather, and your time and energy constraints. We used the Grant Mountain Trail recording as a basis, but modified it to include some bushwhacking but mostly staying on trails (and avoiding the steep descent/ascent towards the end of the track shown on this page). See "Loop De Doo" track for our 7.7 mile jaunt which also has some notes on "new" Red Trail to connect from Eastern Ridge (blue) trail to Lake Ann (purple) trail. Very fun, beautiful view of the lake. There is a nice picnic table at one spot that looks over the lake. Trails are fun.

great work out, easy and beautiful hike! did it today with my 7 month old in a chest harness, he loved it too! will definitely be spending more time here throughout the summer!

Super easy hike for young kids and old dogs if that's what you are looking for! Great family spot. Will explore more tangents next time.

I hiked this trail for the first time today. I don't know why this trail is marked as easy. It depends on what part of the trail you are talking about. some parts are easy, some are most certainly not. I would not recommend this trail for a beginner.

Nice trail with a great view. The trail is actually a dirt road for the most part. They are working on making new trails and the creeks and reservoir are nice. The view from the top is the highlight of the hike. Trail was mostly dry.

Great quick little hike with terrific semi-Adirondack scenery. This can totally be a running trail hike or just a quick and easy scenic hike. Once you get to the parking lot, follow the white markers until they turn into green markers and make sure you stay on the right side of the lake. There’s a picnic bench about a mile and a half into the hike. Pretty cool little hike.

It was icy where all snowshoe was packed at beginning and end. If you are careful you don’t need spikes

Nice little loop around Lake Bonita. Did this on April 1, 2018 and needed microspikes to ensure good footing. Eager to explore linkages to other trails in the main part of Moreau Lake State Park, especially the link (blue markers) to the Western Ridge Trail.

Beautiful ‘almost spring’ hike to try out. Peaceful and lucky to see a woodpecker!

Nice wooded trail hike. The out and back from the parking lot to Lake Ann is approximately a 3.6 mile hike. Took white trail marker from parking lot, turned right onto green and then just after the picnic bench overlooking Bonita lake took the trail to the right marked with lavender markers. At the lean-to you there is a new wooden deck to the edge of Lake Ann which I would describe as a pond.

A nice little trail though it is a little hard to follow the trail with all of the leaves that are down

A nice trek. Started to left side of lake and found trails to be hard to follow despite a comprehensive trail marker system in place. The leaves on the trail didn't help but I was told the first several miles of my hike were on new trails. I was hoping for views of the Hudson but they were limited. I dropped down to the road to have a look, that was nice. Went back on the power line road but had to bushwack back to trail. Continued on trails but was on limited time so bushwacked to the Grant Summit, more or less. The woods are pretty open so bushwacking was nice. Continued back then took a wrong turn onto the fire road, thought that might be a good option but it was heading down to the prison. I opted to bushwack up the hill to get back on the trail to see the lake up there, near the cabin. That was worth it. Worked my way back via the pink trail markers. My Garmin said I did 9+ miles so keep that in mind and know you can avoid the bushwacking if you want.

The view was worth the hike...however the previous reviews stating it's not well labeled are correct. our first mile was an uphill walk on a "snowmobile" trail. we then felt lost as we hit a "no trespassing" sign. when we turned around to head back down we did notice a red marker and lovely pile of rocks marking a trail. we followed a more narrow/overgrown path for about 3/4 of a mile to reach the top....and the fall views where amazing! then we just retraced our steps back to the start. there where a few labeled paths off the snowmobile trail, but no map at the start as to where they go!!

Just right for 2 mile work out.
with great views.

Very nice hike. Getting to the top of Redmond Outlook is very rewarding. Also a lot of geocaches. You could spend a full day here!

Beautiful hike with my dog. On the right side of the lake, there's a nice picnic table and a sitting bench overlooking the lake with a fantastic view. On the left side of the lake, there's a grassy covered dam that was begging for a picnic blanket to sit on and catch some rays. We loved this hike.

Trails not marked well. We took the wrong trail to start with and ended up adding quite a bit of time to our hike.
