Free parking weekends. Very easy. Well marked

Amazing views and was able to visit the Mt. Beacon 8 memorial which I never knew existed. Took a wrong turn which increases the hike by 3 miles. Took longer than expected with a few rest stops, 6.5 hours. Great hike.

We went counterclockwise. Suggest that if you want a pretty decent work out. Majority of it up hill.

Very nice, quiet walk through old farming country. The pond makes a great place for a rest stop.

Very easy walking, biking, or running trail. Wheelchairs would even be fine...except for the staircase areas. Great spot for kids and dogs. Beautiful scenery and tons of interesting history. There is a virtual walking tour you can access too if you want to take in the historic markers all over the trail. We came here on Memorial day and got to hear the cannons across the river at West Point. Pretty cool considering the day. Beautiful stream with small falls that is fun for exploring. If you are looking for a short walk through history with zero stress this is a great spot. Don't leave out the little church and park across the street from the railroad station.

Always a beautiful hike!

fields, farms, stream / river, lake, pond, forest. Longish, but totally doable

Hiked this route (minus the detour up to East Mountain), but clockwise, which IMO is the way to do it. Pretty gentle at first then you encounter a few sections of elevation gain going up to Round Hill, where there is one great vista and one so-so vista. From there we continued along the Fahnestock Trail all the way to the Perkins Trail, passing by the teal colored cut off trail. Taking the Perkins back to School Mountain Trail you go by some lovely cascades. From this point you follow streams almost the whole way back, past some ruins of a house, over some nice bridges constructed by cadets at West Point, and finally by some wetlands. There are a few rocky and muddy areas, but nothing too bad. One of the better hikes at Fahnestock, a park that doesn’t have a lot of great routes that I’ve found.

Very easy trail but beautiful and peaceful at the same time

Our original plan was to check out Bull Hill, but since the trail was closed we ended up landing here after a ranger told us about the park. We picked this trail because it seemed to be the most challenging the park had to offer. Parking was reasonable and busy, but not packed. The trail head was easy to locate. The trail had some decent ascents and definitely provided a work out. The area is a bit rocky, but manageable. Not a very technical trail but there was some lovely scenery along the way! Moderately buggy. Clearly marked.
