This is not a trail. At best a walk around the lake, but it is entirely sidewalk. Not meant to be hiked in any sense of the word. The all trails app will route you to a parking lot near a hotel, but that is not even the trailhead- we entered the trail down the hill from the parking lot in a beach area and kept hoping it would get better. It doesn’t. Also a giant chunk of the “trail” is under construction and you have to walk in a gravel ditch

Not a trail - sidewalk the whole way round. Still nice walk though.

Very pleasant hike. Too many noisy, loud, inconsiderate hikers. If you’re quiet you may even see some wildlife in your travels. Imagine That!

While it’s a beautiful view of the water and a good long trail for biking and walking, I was disappointed to see so much trash. If your wizzing by on a bike it’s not as noticeable. More people are out and some are mindful of distance and masking up before passing, but then there are others who come in groups, unmasked and unaware (or not caring) of the space they are taking up. Depending where on the trail you’re at you kinda feel forced off of it... and into the trash -_- So all and all not my favorite, but if you need to get out and see the water and get moving it’s fine. Oh and a lot of people were smoking there today, so while you’re stretching your lungs out and trying to be healthy there’s a direct obstacle to achieving that. I’m newish to the area so the trash and cigarettes may be expected and normal for people here, idk.

WalkingGreat!

Great for stroller walk with baby. My son is 7 months and this was a perfect balance of pretty scenery, paved path, and not a lot of bugs!

Walked the Red trail loop with some meandering on the inner loop. The trails are poorly marked currently (8/9/20) so finding your way to the outer Red trail takes some finding. A lot of the trail midway is encountered by construction sites, and part of the trail (about 600 feet) goes along the HH Pkway so it was unpleasant. There is no buffer for the noise level. Positive: Pretty much the whole trail is shaded. The highest strain of elevation is at the very beginning and it incrementally increases after that. Although the trail is paved, it is still surrounded by forest and not bad for a city hike. Neutral: Only one scenic view of the river was visible. It's nice. A second one was partial.

Road bikingGreat!

Pretty flat. Mix of stone and dirt. We went from Rosendale towards Kingston. No views at all but was pretty shaded for the hit day.

flat, clean/well maintained, and decently shady! overall a great ride! I looped through some side streets to add some mileage. BE AWARE: portions of the trail may lose your GPS signal, so mileage in this app may not be perfectly accurate

As others have stated, not really a trail as opposed to a paved path. But a nice “trail” saw some wildlife (some birds and a chipmunk), pretty well shaded, relatively flat. It’s a nice trail, I would use it a lot if I lived in Saratoga (we were there on vacation)

Road bikingBugsOver grown

Millwood path to Baldwin Park path: Great for road biking, and freshly paved which is AMAZING... except it’s WAYYYY too overgrown with the trees and buggy AF. Go in the am or early afternoon to avoid the majority of bugs, but be aware that it’s super shaded and will get chilly if it’s not 80-90° outside. Also is super pollen filled in spring/early summer so if you have allergies like me, double up on that Zyrtec. Mahopac path to Brewster: Awesome road biking trail, but seriously needs some clean up and sweeping of debris after the storm.
