Have to agree with another poster, the walk along the powerlines was not the nicest part of the walk. We were targets for the deerflys. A nice walk in a place I didn't know existed. i did a few geocaches while we walked.

Trail markings were very confusing due to the logging activities. Just when I thought I was back on trail, the map showed us off of it.

It was an overcast day at the lake, so we decided to take a walk around Palmer Pond. It was peaceful and quiet. I did a couple of geocaches during my walk. Nice easy walk.

Extremely confusing. Between the marked ski trails, snow shoe trails, and hiking trails we got turned around a lot. If it wasn’t for this app and having cell reception we would still be out there.

Half the hike was pretty along the creek. The other half not so much along the power lines. Nice short hike though

One of my favorite, short hikes in the Adirondacks and for the Chester Challenge! Celebrated National Trails Day by hiking this today with family for my third time (twice during the warm months and once snowshoeing this past Winter). Not strenuous with serene views along the way. Great for families with small children and older relatives! :-)

This was a nice easy hike with minimal elevation gain that makes a great family hike for every hiking ability.

This an easy hike to Palmer Pond and can be done as an out and back or a loop around Palmer Pond.

Nicely kept and and marked. Benches all along if you would like to rest or watch for wildlife. More wildflowers on this trail than the previous four I have done in the area. If you want total peace and quiet this trail is close to school and you can hear what is happening on the athletic fields.

Short hike. Nice though.

Only took the Outer Loop trail (Yellow markers). This was a nice loop from the Fish trail head to the Dynamite Hill trail head. However we were unable to continue on the trail because it was temporarily closed. We took a different trail to continue the loop. We followed the light purple trail back to the Fish trail head, however, this trail might be ok in the winter, it was very hard to follow in the summer, good thing there were a lot of markers to find our way back.

Short nature walk, trail head is easily found in the library parking lot. There are only a few little hills, lots of benches to take a break and look for wildlife.
