We went camping here for the first time in early October at one of the 14 campsites on Kriedeman Forest Road. We only stayed one night, but it was well worth it. There was the most beautiful foliage I've ever seen! There is more info on Google, but the main things to note are it is free camping with no running water, bathrooms, or trash facilities. You have to bring everything in and everything back out. A gentleman walking by notified us that there had been some thefts from people's campsites over the summer, so we locked most things back up in our cars before bed. We only saw the forest ranger drive by once in the 26 hours we were there which was nice. You didn't feel like he was constantly watching you, but he'd be going by eventually if you needed to get his attention for something. We didn't do any hiking, but we did explore the ravine-type land behind our campsite. I would definitely go back again!
