Excellent fun trail. My first time riding on Long Island. The trails were smooth and flowing compared to the rocks and hills I normally ride in PA. While the black diamond loops are not super technical they are the most fun parts of the trail to ride and do get the heart rate up.

We left from our campsite #11. We hiked trail and ended at our campsite. It was pretty easy going. A few places were a question due to no markers. But we followed the all trails map. If you do not take the black trail turnoffs it comes to about 5 miles. Stay on the blue trail and you will end where you started. The mountain bikers share trail. But they were all really cool. We just moved over when they passed. Great trail.

Cathedral Pines is nice and diverse for walking and trail running. I love that it's relatively shady and has bathrooms, which are open all year round.

There is camping here, tent camping has the coolest little private spots, like bungalows in the woods. RVs/trailers are allowed as well but their spots are in an open field.

The people who manage the park suck. The woman who oversees everything had a really bad attitude when I was reserving my camping spot.

Another thing I noticed about the park is its questionable safety. I wouldn't go alone, just because there are some shady characters. One instance, I had an SUV of guys driving around where I was running back to my car, when I stopped, they happened to stop as well to "ask me a question". That's when I noticed the rear passengers had an open container of alcohol.

Additionally, I was grilling once, when some random dude came from the back woods, disregarded my tent set up, and chose to walk right through my camp instead of around it. Just be aware of your surroundings here.

Great trail for new and experienced riders. Lots of roots and mostly flat

So very pretty watch the tides for low clearance

Nice trails. Walked the 5 mile loop. Trails are marked ok, but a couple times I was skeptical about whether or not I was heading the right way. Nicely maintained trails though. Mostly flat, easy hike.

First ride of 2018, the main loop is for beginners mostly flat, with twists and turns. We missed a couple blacks because they come up quick, and are barely marked and I was not turning around.
Blacks are more intermediate, not as bad as some of the trails at Rocky Point. The blacks are mostly downhill twists and turns with a climb back up at the end.
Towards the end of the trail there are a lot of roots, got a little bumpy. But decent trail all together.
I have heard of having to pay to park, we must have got in when the guy was on the can. But I did notice a hiking parking area at "prossier pines county park," if you do not mind the 1/4 mile ride to the park. Unsure if they will still charge but worth a shot. Also there is a side "private" entrance off of East Bartlett Road, it will bring you to the trail head.

the dogs love it. i come here often

it's so beautiful, you forget you're in suffolk county

trails are barely marked. i’m very thankful for the trail map on this app - the trails are not well marked at all, and my hiking partner and i had to open the map from here and use a compass to find our way back to civilization. lots of bikers on the trails, which was fine because there are so many trails. well maintained, they just really need proper markers.

Surprisingly great mountain biking trail. Fairly easy but challenging at certain spots. Great for a beginners like us! Free entry at certain times of the year!

Been walking this path my whole life. Signal light at the end of the beach. Such a pristine beach. I only wish it was cheaper to park. Definitely get a green key if you plan on coming often.

well marked, we'll maintained.

Although it says it's a hiking trail it really is mostly a mountain bike trail. It wasn't crowded but there were a few sets of bikers so we had to stop and step to the side. But, the trail was fun and I might do it again.

Rode this trail today. Just started mountain biking and this trail was pretty competitive. A lot of mud spots but I'm sure on the drier days its better. Enjoyed the turns and hills but trails are tight. In my upper 40's so I will continue on this trail until I complete it. Overall I enjoyed this trail and for sure recommend it but not for beginners.

Rode it today last time was about 4 years ago. Took the fat boy. It's definitely a entry level trail yet a lot of fun only 3 climbs to speak of but non the less a good ride it's a good trail to keep a really good pace going all through out. Had a little trouble following signs to cover all the ground. Made a few u turns. It's a good trail to start the season off to get the legs warmed up. And handling back. Not my favorite but fun.

This is a great trail, it's certainly one of the nicest I've ran in a while. There are usually some cyclist but it's quiet and serene, definitely still a great place to run and well worth the hike. (no pun intended)

I used the hiking trail for a practice run with all my backpacking gear. Hiked about 5 miles. The hiking trails runs along side the bike trail. There were no hikers on the trail, but some bikes would go by . Trail is well marked and very peaceful

I'm pretty new to mountain biking but I love this trail. It's challenging and fun. The main loop is only 4.2 miles if you don't go on any of the black diamond trails. A lot of fun downhills and logs to jump over.

This is a great beginner trail! It is also a fun ride for the more experienced biker. It has a few hilly areas, but it is the sand traps that will get you! I love the trick or treat cut, don't miss it!
