Black River, New York Map

This is an easy trail. Great for bringing the kids in the stroller or your pup on a leash. Pretty views along the way too :)

Nice scenic paved path. Great for running out and back or point to point!

Great for an out and back run! Trail is completely paved and very stroller friendly. Most of the trail is shaded.

took our 3 dogs out and they loved it! lots of shade, beautiful shining black river, WARNING: squirrels cross the path like crazy, and bikers might spook dogs but that's to be expected. great trail can't wait to go back.

It's a very nice trail! But, there are no bins to put pet waste in. It isnt pleasant having to carry a bag of dog waste for miles and miles. There is also a lot of pet waste along the trail. I think a few receptacles could encourage people to pick up after their pets more.

Good paved trail for biking/running/walking. The 2 miles I went follows the river through the forest and along farmland. Definitely not a trail the word "hike" can be associated with.

Decent trail, follows the river, blacktop, good run or walk

Very nice paved trail with a couple of tiny waterfalls. You hear nature most of the way through but you do need to pass through a couple of streets to continue the walk which isn't too bad but it takes away from the feel while walking.

Great paved path for hiking, running or biking. It's mid-April now, and the path was clear for what we could see. Any easlier in the season may have had lingering ice. Beautiful view of the river along the way, well maintained.

This is less of a trail and more of a paved walking area through the woods. It usually had a lot of people on bikes. I liked to take my dog here but not on hot days because like I said it’s pavement. Very beautiful though!

good for a nice quiet hike outside the city of Watertown.

Walked this trail as the leaves were peaking and some great color throughout the paved walking trail. Enjoyed seeing river birch trees along the river walk as well as some of the foliage this autumn.

well maintained trail great for a bike ride or a run. if you have pets there is nice access points for a quick swim.

Started at the Huntingtonville trail head and walked down to the end in Black River and back. 6.9 miles. Great for biking and rollerblading. Wish people would take care of their dog's crap though.

Not bad... paved, so good for walking, jogging, or road biking. It's clean, so that's nice.

This is my favorite "trail" to run on. The path is paved and wide and the views never get old ! Besides a few small hills on the black river side it is mostly flat. Gorgeous in the fall and spring. In the winter it is not kept up with and can get icy, even if it hasn't snowed for awhile, so just watch out for that. Also bring bug spray if recently rained, by the river it can get quite full of biting bugs ! But this is my favorite path in Watertown !

This is such a great trail for an after or before work bike, jog, walk, or x-c ski in the winter. The river is beautiful, esp. At sunset. And the trail has now been extended! It goes almost the whole way to route 3; I think when they finish it will be linked with the short trail along the river on the Watertown side of rt 3. At this point, I'd say doing the full trail out and back is about 10 miles. Mostly flat, all paved.

Although not a hiking trail, this is fantastic for almost anyone. The whole path is completely paved, making it easy to access for almost anyone, from kids and dogs, to elderly and those in wheelchairs. The path follows the Black River for the full length. We were there in late fall, so it was covered with leaves. I expect that this is a fantastic walk during early fall while all the leaves are changing color. If you're looking for off road hiking, then this isn't it. If you're looking for a nice easy path to enjoy the outside, then this is a gem.

Great trail for running/walking. Lots of courteous people and well lit.

wonderful for stroller walking bicycling dog walking. the trail is totally paved, with no off-trail hiking. the only downside being people did not clean up after their dogs on the trail.

A beautiful wide paved path along the Black River. Well traveled by walkers, runners, and bicycle riders. Winding through wooded areas, near corn fields, and across bridges it is a quiet area that is kid and dog friendly. Having kids with me I just wish there was a bathroom area with garbage receptacle around the half way point of the trail. Other than that it's a very nice, relaxing walk.

Excellent multi-use trail. That it is well used by the community is a good sign. The trail is a paved-over railroad bed, so it is smooth and level. Winds through meadows, farmland, and woods - along the Black River.

Great place.

Loved it

Nice smooth trail to bike

easy trail. I walk to the trail from my home in Black River for a warm up. I throw 20lb plates in the pack to keep me in "ruck shape". it was super windy and chilly today as we walked in from Black River, but as soon as we hit the trail, the trees cut 90% of the wind out and it warmed up by a few degrees. point is, good to hit on a windy day!

This is my go to trail from Fort Drum. Great for dog walking... fantastic for a bike ride from post out to the trail, I often will loop it twice for miles. I also love to run it, though then I wish it was gravel. But really no complaints at all! The views are great and it's almost like you get three styles of views. The river, farmers fields, then a lovely arch of tree tunnel! The only pet peeve is people who let their dogs poop ON the trail, or bag it then leave it ON the trail. I'm a dog owner so losing access to trails because people don't have a little respect for each other... Sorry rant ;)

Super easy trail for hiking or running. All of the trail is paved and plenty of parking at both ends. I would call this more of a walking trail than hiking trail.

I like this trial alot. It's easy enough I can bring my kiddos for a walk.

Not a bad little trail. If you're at Drum, nice place for a brisk walk or run.
