Mind the goose poop but very nice! Gets you out of the city.

I do this hike a lot for conditioning. Very steep but still a great hike. The pond side is very easy though, great views as well.

I was just there today & would recommend this park to any visitors who enjoy hiking. The falls & gorge are worth every step. However, the red trails get confusing because they are actually 3 separate trails that can lead you away from where you think you're going, unless you use a compass carefully & take a picture of the map near the parking lot. Beware that from the footbridge, the White Trail is straight ahead, despite the low red flags along the same route. To follow the Rim Trail, your first step after the footbridge needs to be an immediate sharp left. I suggest installing simple rustic signs indicating the beginning of specific trails at each end, as well as an arrow indicating the direction to follow. Also, I suggest using a few other colors so that each trail has its own individual identity.

great hike. bear left at the start to see the water falls below you. looking at the park map at the entrance, I do not recommend doing the large blue loop. it is not maintained and is more like crawling through animal paths. otherwise enjoyable. for any geocachers, check out the cache of the white trail.

Wildly steep but the view of the hill to come keeps you motivated, yearning to reach the top.

Very tranquil, many beautiful fungi, birds, and moths. Had to cross a brook near the parking lot, waded barefoot and then put my shoes back on. Because the lower meadow was flooded there were no ATVs, which (no offense) was fine with me. Trails were not marked except at the top of the hill, so keep the GPS going so you don't get lost.

A nice and easy hike, with beautiful wildflowers and a lovely waterfall. The farther loop trail (which cuts toward the east after crossing the creek) was extremely wet and to be avoided till summer, but the trail on the south side was mostly dry. Climbing down to the waterfall is not too difficult and very rewarding. Young children would have a field day exploring and piling up rocks as others have done.

This is a fun trail! Very pretty waterfalls.

Nice trail in my back yard wouldn't drive out of my way to come here but if your close by worth a trip nice waterfall. Make sure you have real hiking boots or you'll have wet feet...

It's a nice place to walk, and one of the few parks in the area to enjoy being near a river, but the highway is very loud everywhere in the park. The pavement is good.

This is a short hike with interesting features including a waterfall, overlook of the Town of Chenango and plenty of mushrooms! There are several trails which run through deciduous and coniferous patches of trees, an open field, along the top of a ridge, and the top of a steep bank that drops off to the creek below (my favorite). I often see hawks in the field and darting along the creek in the woods. Deer are common as well. This fantastic park is the jewel of the Town of Chenango in my opinion.

It was fun and beautiful. However, the trails are very poorly marked. We got lost multiple times.

This area is pretty with good ups and downs. Can be very muddy after the smallest amount of rain. Good parking.

This is one of my daily walking choices. The park is well maintained, including the walking paths and bathrooms. There is a plethora of geese that inhabit the park, do care with stepping is a must. Nice playground for kids too.

Excellent hike!!

This is a very nice park for walking and bicycling. The older part of the trails were recently repaved and widened in select areas. The grounds and trails are well maintained and are patrolled by Broome County Security. Be aware that parking can become limited on the north end on weekends, especially when there are intramural events

can someone please tell me what trail the waterfallsare on? I was on the blue trail, not to far in because it started getting dark. wanted to check the falls out with my family.

Great sweat up the hill. No scenic hot spots, but the flowers were pretty before the steep hike up. Some hikes I can take the jogger stroller for my toddler and wear it like a backpack, (quite comfortably actually) but this is NOT one of them. We are adventurous enough to take out toddler and older son also. Next time I will wear my soccer cleats for better footing up the steep hill.

Trails were nice and marked moderately well. I did get confused at the end of the white trail but got turned back around and it was all good after that. Weather was beautiful so trails were dry. I do suggest a good bug spray thought.

Nice easy walk for the whole family.

Monday, April 25, 2016

The trail was incredibly muddy on the white trail. The split off from the bluebird trail to red trail seemed to end or wasn't maintained. We might have been on an old trail. The foot bridge was missed over and falling apart on the one trail, on others the wooden bridges were cockeyed or non existent. The waterfall was nice, but it was a steep decline down with no stairs or what not. The observation deck wasn't on the trail map, nor were the falls. Many trees were across the trail. The gazebo could be cute but even it had Moss growing throughout the roof. Picnic tables gave you a nice view of the guard rail and parking lot. Although the kids did enjoy collecting salamanders.

Great trails. From easy on the pond side of the road to hard on the ski slope side. Make sure you pay attention to where you are going however, as some of the trails marked by the boy scouts were done on private property "without permission." Chances are you'll be greeted by numerous land owners if found trespassing on neighboring properties. Most of the land is now marked with updated posted signs as well. Keep to the trails and there are some very pretty views. Also, beware of the atv's that are occasionally found there... they don't always pay attention to hikers.

It was amazing. I had to hike it (will be there again) for a geology lab for SUNY Broome! I have been looking for a place to go hiking and this has definitely been one of the better options!

I love this trail, great for my young nephew and my small dog. If you go out of your way some you can make it a bit harder. The walk down the water way is absolutely gorgeous and still simple enough for a child.
