nice, straight path down to the beach. there are side trails, but it rained the day before so they were mostly flooded. still a lovely walk with the pups.

Easy, gentle walk. Very scenic and historical.

I love taking my dog here. Great trail to the water and awesome view.

Great park, just wish people would follow the rules and keep their dogs on a leash

Always a great, relaxing, walk. There's plenty of wildlife to check out and of course, the lighthouse.

If you want a scenic ride it's ok. Mostly narrow path and slow moving riders can be tough to get around. Don't expect a real workout or path challenge since not a lot of open space.

Easy ride hit the parkway from Field 2 to the lighthouse and back. When you get to a certain part of the lighthouse sand trail you will either have to walk your bike. Unless you have fat tires. Carry some cash and add a trip up the lighthouse as well.

Quick walk to lighthouse

Go early for birding. Being that this is a free Park, with a kids playground, open bathrooms, and ample parking, this place fills up during the day. It's a nice place for kids, as it's a big clean park packed with dogs. The hiking is pretty standard for Long Island, meaning very flat and a bit sandy in places. A well maintained Park, worth stopping by if you're in the area. Don't go out if your way though.

I heard it will only have a dog run but will not allow dogs on the paths or down to the water. Due to many not cleaning up after their dogs and not LEASHING your dog. So no this is not one of the only parks that dogs can be off leash. Its too bad I bring my dogs here and its a really nice park.

Every summer since I was twelve. The sand stretches make for slow going with bikes; personally, I'd rather walk. We always go back via the (ocean side) beach.

Sean can you really be annoyed about the dogs when it's one of the only parks that dogs can be off leash around here? We're all just trying to have a good time...

A nice easy path to walk, but rather high traffic. Note that several people walk their dog off-leash, which gets annoying in a popular area...

Great ride. Once you get through the sand road. Had to walk to pavement. Beautiful scenery, beaches on both sides. General store was open and was told it will be open till 10/15/2016. Enjoy The Ride!

Awesome summer ride! Once you park at Robert Moses State Park Field 5, head eastward toward Fire Island Lighthouse. There's approximately one half mile of hard packed gravel (and a little soft sand) to get through. Once into Fire Island, you will enjoy biking on smooth concrete. Helmet should be worn and a bell is helpful as you will likely navigate through many pedestrians (locals & tourists) depending on the time of day/year. You can also navigate north and south off the main drag (Central Walk) for beautiful scenery in both directions. The towns (Kismet, Saltaire and Fair Harbor) each have their own business districts with restaurants, bars and convenience stores. I highly recommend this road cycling trail. Enjoy!

Nice park. Good for dogs. Lots of different short trails that go off from main trail. Can walk to small beach on the Great South Bay. Pretty in all seasons. I have not found any ticks here. Playground and restrooms too. Busy on weekends.
