Very enjoyable Sunday morning hike. Started to get busy after 11 am but still Covid safe. Would be nicer if away from highway noise but a great mix of forest and meadow. Not at all steep. Fabulous wildflowers: paintbrush, penstemon, pitcher’s clematis, perky sue, snowberry, and much more. And millions of ladybugs! The “cave” is an old fluorspar mine; probably vintage 1940s.

Cave, about thirty minute drive from home, so worth it. I would collect 360 trail, no trail his views like that. Wildflowers!

Trail was really nice. the parking lot liked a lot busier than it was for 11:30 on a Friday. I saw about 30 people over the course of 2 hours, still felt I was able to enjoy the trail "alone" for that time.

Very enjoyable trail! Our 4 months old puppy had no problem dealing with it. Took us about 2h

The hike to the TWA crash site isn’t too tough, some scrambling, but after the crash the trail becomes hard to follow and the hiking becomes more technical and rocky. Fun, but hard hike that’s easy to get lost on.

Beautiful trail. More like 4 miles. Windy day. Biggest danger is the polished rocks due to heavy traffic. Worthwhile to also check out the Kiwanis House and the overlook next to new restaurant.

Saw a rattlesnack and had to turn around 3 miles in. Not todaaaaaayyyy nuh uh

This was a good trail for a quick hike. I took my dog and she had not trouble navigating.

Beautiful trail for New Mexico. There was a small stream of water throughout the trail and most of the trail was shaded. The elevation gain made it quite difficult and there was an area right before getting to the plane crash sight you have to climb some huge rocks. The crash sight was pretty cool to see but coming down the trail was a little scary because of how steep it was. Challenging but very pretty.

Great trail for a solid ascent & descent, and is a well maintained trail. It meets up with part of the Oso trail, the south crest trail & the 10k south. If you take the trail about .25 miles more passed the end of the trail, it’ll lead to a great crest view of Albuquerque. My iwatch put the elevation gain at 1,000 feet.

Beautiful hike. The trail ends at the wilderness boundary but it is definitely worth it to continue up the crest Trail to enjoy some views from the crest when you get to the top. Beautiful green grass and great views of the ski slopes. Just a reminder that the parking lot requires three dollars to park per vehicle.

Took us about two hours to reach the top. We did have hiking poles but only used them on the way up. We hiked the trail on 5/2/20 and it was pretty crowded, lots of families and dogs for about the first two miles. A bit of mud & minimal snow packs at the intersection for 10k. Parking area was packed and bathrooms were locked. Initially had planned to do the Armijo Trail, but parking was overflowed to Sandia Crest Road and we decided to drive up a bit more. P.S. please pick up your trash & after your dog!!!!

Good trail for a moderate 2 hour hike. Ascent can be strenuous but the trail is laid out well to give you rests. When coming back down, you may miss the turn off to the separate descent trail so keep an eye out for the fork in the trail. The descent trail is gradual & you can run it, lots of vegetation along the trail.

Short hike. Nice view

Fun to be in the canyon and the TWA wreck is interesting, but very crowded on the weekends and I couldn’t figure out how to do the rocky scramble at the end! Very hot approach and finish so bring lots of water

best for beginners like me. In some areas snow is present, but it doesn't effect the trail. quite enjoyed the scenic beauty.

Hike this yesterday & it was hard but enjoyed every minute of it... I was abit embarrassed that it took me 6hrs & 15 mins but got to say when I looked at the est time which is 5hr 37min ... I’m not so embarrassed now!!! But I definitely enjoyed it!

Easy hike with some difficult terrain and some stairs. Cool to go on top of the rock house and see a 360 view.
