The trails were all open and, despite some rain last night, dry. Great trail with a few good ascents to get your blood pumping. Dog and tween/teen friendly.

We did the T93 (left) trail in and out with 3 kids 14 and under and two dogs. Everyone was happy for the first two miles, the last mile + to our designated half way point was tough, but we all enjoyed it. One dog did great, the other came home with injured paw pads, so if you have a heavier/bigger dog, you may want paw protection for him/her.

We truly enjoyed our Sunday morning hike. The sound of the running water, the sweet smell of the beautiful flowers, the fresh morning air was just mind renewing. I would highly recommend the trail if you are up for a little challenge. It’s absolutely beautiful at this time, check out some of the pictures.

really beautiful trail but definitely bring a map to supplement all trails, and use the recording function to track your gps location in coordination with a paper or picture map!! secondly, it’s longer than all trails says. i tracked 5.7 with my gps. also you may want some kind of stick for going up and downhill when it’s pretty steep. still a wonderful trail with amazing views!

We went up via the steeper trailer and down via the less steep trail. The steeper section was a little challenging. We got confused at about mile 2.5 so make sure you pay attention to your map. The less steep trail has lots of pretty areas to eat lunch because there’s lots of logs that have been carved into benches.

T92 is quite rocky coming down but the trail is beautiful. T93 is pretty challenging. Would definitely do it again!

This trail should start farther down than it shows here. The Forest Service Road is closed and locked up halfway up the road. There is an individual lock for each of the cabins past that point. Therefore the gate will never be open! It’s a 3/4 mile walk just to get to the trail head. After you get going on the actual trail, when you get to the next marker, you don’t see the arrows very well. You have to go LEFT! we went right (No. 77) and wasted time. Once we backtracked to the proper trail it was overgrown. The trail didn’t seem to be well traveled or maintained. The views of the ridge line are pretty good though.

Excellent trail. Closer to 5.6 miles. There are steep parts with loose rocks. Trail was in good shape. I would definitely do this one again.

AllTrails map is inaccurate / incomplete for many of the trails around Ruidoso. Take a pic of the big map at trail head for reference.

Would recommend wearing log pants and it’s a little over grown. Multiple fallen trees that you need to climb over. We lost track of the trail and ended early. Also have to walk about a mile to the trailhead.

T93 was a great trail! A lot of nice scenery. T92 was awful! Steep trails with rocks. The trail was okay. The signs were confusing. Would not recommend T92. T93 walk and turn around is recommended.

We hiked this trail on 04/19/20. If you are hiking this trail to get out an enjoy the view take T-93. You can stop and turn around any time. T-93 has lots of pine trees, green grass, flowers, and plenty of stream crossing (will not get wet). Plenty of places to stop and have a picnic. If you are hiking to get a work out take T-92 to T-93. T-92 is steep and rocky. The trail is not pretty. The vegetation is dry with lots of dead trees. I would give T-93 five stars, but we hiked T-92 to T-93 that is the reason for four star rating.

Lots of shade and small streams! We took our 5 year old and he didn’t complain. We went T93 to T92 all the way up (there’s another cut through we didn’t try), and the last part of T93 was very rocky. My 5 year old did fall once when he wasn’t paying close attention and we all slid a couple of times. Overall, we really enjoyed it, though. Plenty of great views and several spots to sit along the way.

We went up T92 Perk Ridge Trail and came down T93 Perk Canyon Trail. T92 was brutal to say the least. Followed a forest road most of the way and was straight up. Coming ack down on T93 was beautiful! Lots of trees and water!

I would definitely recommend going up and back T93. We did the entire loop going clockwise and T92 was pretty steep and rocky coming back. Pretty views, but T93 was really pretty next to the creek. We hiked 6 miles. Fun morning! Will do T93 again!

Great open trail through the forest. Gradual incline is nice. Some spots along the creek get muddy.

Most horrible Hike ever. I went counter clockwise like suggested and the hills never ever ended.!!!!! Seriously. I was not prepared. I Hike a lot and this was so Steep and just didn’t end. Even after the summit. Down for a short While then the steepest hill ever. We all said NOPE and called it quits. Lol

I went with a group of friends, and we went counter-clockwise as other reviews suggested. I’m glad we did! The initial part of the hike was pretty steep, and I would much rather go up that steep grade than try to go down. There is a creek that follows the trail towards the end, and there were many scenic views throughout. We went in late February, and there was quite a bit of mud from melting snow, ice, and the creek.

Great trail, happy overall:) we did it counterclockwise as the reviews suggested and we were glad we did. The first half was pretty steep, definitely lost our breath a couple times but it was still enjoyable! We came late feb and there was a bit of snow/ice which was nice. Not too much, very manageable. We recorded 5.6 miles at 3hrs. The trail is easy to find and well marked, easy to follow :)

Fun trail. We went counter-clockwise taking 92 to 93. The app is off. Both trail heads start near each other. (The app takes you down thunderhead road up the mountain) 92 seemed to be uphill for a longgg way. If you want an easier out and back, take 93, and head back once you’ve had enough of the uphill. It goes through a cool valley
