not a moderate trail. defiantly a hard trail. but beautiful and worth it. I wouldn't take small children on it. it's steel going up and coming down.

Very nice trail. Well laid out. I started the loop toward the right. Reason is the way the last mile won't be straight up hill. So at the half way point, in the meadow I only had a half mile of hard uphill with the rest a gradual uphill. I did t want to have the last mile to be straight uphill. You might want to keep that in mind. Also it is a rocky trail st the start, so mind your ankles. Overall very fun diverse trail. I'd be hesitant to bring small children unless you want to carry them a good portion of the way.

A little rocky and parts of the continuing trail were indistinguishable, but altogether a good hike!

I'm a 53-year-old man who's not in the best of shape, but I was able to do this hike. I listened to my body, when it said break, I broke. Tricky knees and back made going downhill almost slower than up, so the whole trip took me five hours. But was it ever worth it! Beautiful scenery, even a few weeks before Spring. This West Texas resident was glad he made the effort!
I did spend a good while in a hot tub at the hotel when I got back.

Chill hike with great views.

Great Hike with nice views on the east side! Even my dogs loved it!

trail head is very difficult to find. Goat springs trial is very scenic and it is only 1.3 miles of the hike up. the rest of the way to the top is a two track with limited views. lots of deer and wildlife running about at higher elevation. be sure to have good means to navigate as there are many turns along the way. the summit was rewarding also with limited views. Sign the logbook inside the large nearby cairn. 10.4 miles round trip!
